自从2019年起，Storyland的全球童书研究员们就陆续参加伦敦书展、博洛尼亚童书展，也在家门口的上海国际童书展上设过摊位，展示孩子们创作的作品。

虽然三年疫情让全球流动被迫停滞，但很高兴从去年开始，我们再次回归世界书展！去年和今年的3月我们都探访了伦敦书展。今年我们又在时隔五年之后，再次造访全球最大规模也是最重要的童书展——意大利博洛尼亚童书展。所以今天一起录制播客的，是几位有着不同的世界书展“打猎经验”的童书研究员，分别是Emily小创、Ella和胡胡。

伦敦书展、博洛尼亚童书展这样的世界顶级书展，究竟有什么特别之处？作为专业的童书研究员，在这些国际书展上，会重点关注哪些方面，有哪些看书展的特别视角？最近几年的国际童书出版趋势中，有哪些值得留意的议题？童书只是给孩子看的书吗？网上买书那么容易，为什么我们还需要好的线下书展？在后疫情时代，也许我们比以往都更需要真实的体验，真实的人与人的联结，甚至是有些“嘈杂”的联结。

作为第63届纽约插画师协会（Society Of Illustrators）金奖、银奖得主，第16届CACC最佳插画得主插画家，Vikki Zhang在绘本《The Lucky Red Envelope（幸运小红包）》中用12幅精美的插画，生动还原了新年前大扫除、烧香敬神、贴春联挂福字、年夜饭等等春节传统民俗场景，用视觉旅行的方式带读者们过中国新年。

两年前和两年后面对这个问题，Ella的回答都和孩子有关。因为孩子会非常直白地表达爱意，会说：“妈妈我好爱你啊！我最爱你了！”然后来抱抱亲亲。这种很浓很浓的爱意总是能击中人柔软的心。

“你认为什么是爱？”Ella把这个问题抛给Storyland的孩子们。

孩子们给出很多不一样的回答，比如：

若一说，爱是很安全、很温暖的感觉，爱是尊重。

妙妙说，（爱是）有人抱着我，很温暖。（爱是）有人爱我，像爸爸妈妈那样亲我。

迪迪说，别人关心你的时候，就是爱。

Brandon说，爱就是你喜欢的任何事情，每个人感受到的爱是不一样的，世界上有不同的爱。

Mars说，爱是一种内心的感受，你感觉得到，但其他人不一定感受得到。

那么，“你会在什么样的时刻感受到爱？”

若一说，我感觉我家小狗很爱我，他让我摸他的尾巴，你们知道吧，一般是不可以摸小狗尾巴的。

土豆说，我妈妈给我买飞机的书和玩具，我感觉到她爱我。

圆圆说，妈妈陪我一起看书，我感觉到爱。

令人意外的是，有几位孩子不约而同地提到同一件事：生病的时候会感觉到爱，爸爸妈妈给自己喂药或者在家里陪他们。Ella好奇地追问，为什么生病的时候才觉得感觉到爸爸妈妈爱自己呢？

答案让人意外也并不意外。孩子们说，平时课业压力比较大，周末的时间也被排满，反而真正能有完整时间和爸爸妈妈待在一起的时间是生病的时候——那个时候，反而才有了更亲密的亲子时光，才能更确定地感受到爸爸妈妈很爱自己。

爱是什么？什么时候人会感觉到爱？真的是很大很大的问题呀！

在绘本《What is Love》中，男孩走出家门，问了不同人对爱的理解，每个人给出了独一无二的回答，比如渔夫认为爱是一条鱼，演员觉得爱是掌声......最后男孩回了家，觉得自己找到了关于“爱”的答案。

在作者Mac Barnett看来，《What is Love》的目的并不是给出爱的定义。“我认为这本书想传达的是：用清晰的语言描述复杂的事物是十分困难的。”

试图给“爱”一个清晰准确的通用定义，是几乎不可能完成的任务，对于主人公小男孩来说，真正重要的是寻找“爱是什么”的旅程，是他与一个又一个不同身份的人的交谈，去理解对于不同的人来说什么是爱。最后尝试发现，对于自己而言，什么是爱。

爱的定义是主观的，关于每个人如何理解自己，以及对Ta而言重要的人和事。

于是Ella邀请孩子们在阅读之后，也和书里的小男孩一样踏上寻找“爱是什么”的旅程，去向周围的人发问，去寻找关于“爱”的答案。他们把自己关于“爱”的发现，做成了一本本创意小书作品，名为《爱是什么》。

因此这一期播客，创意故事家项目Ella、Vivian和大家聊了聊，在我们的教育观察中，发现孩子们是如何理解爱，进而探讨到关于性的教育。

无论是谈论爱还是谈论性，我们在谈论的都是生命本身。在与孩子进行这样“大问题”的探讨时，书和故事都是我们的好帮手。

过去几年，他还在三联中读上开设面向大人和孩子的哲学普及栏目，把哲学读书会的音频视频免费分享在B站上，他的讲解风趣幽默，让许多人有更多渠道亲近本就带着艰涩难懂标签的哲学。

去年，姜宇辉把三年前给孩子开设的《哲学启萌》系列哲学分享整理成《哲学的好奇》，分为“昨天的我，今天的我，明天的我”、“大人，机器和他们”，“世界是真的吗”三大主题。

全书从22个问题出发，比如“什么是哲学？”“为什么大人嘴里总有那么多‘应该’？”“我不想长大，怎么办？”“闭上眼睛，世界就消失了吗？”，用寓言、科幻小说等不同文体，尝试用一种轻松的方式探讨哲学。

这场名为“马蒂斯的马蒂斯”的展览，由UCCA尤伦斯当代艺术中心、法国北方省省立马蒂斯美术馆联合呈现，也是20世纪重要艺术流派“野兽派”的创始人和主要代表人物——亨利·马蒂斯（1869-1954）的艺术生涯，在中国的首次完整呈现。

当然除了看展，我们也在Storyland长宁空间，特别开放了马蒂斯主题创意工作坊，其中一场由Storyland x 奇想国童书 x UCCA Kids联合主办。在工作坊中，我们从奇想国童书、UCCA尤伦斯当代艺术中心合作出版的绘本《马蒂斯的旅行》出发，带孩子们进行了一场特别的故事和创作旅行。孩子们创作出非常惊艳的剪纸拼贴作品。

因此这一期播客，我们从马蒂斯谈起，想和大家聊一聊带孩子看展这件事。

如今越来越多的城市有丰富展览，尤其在北京、上海，不乏艺术史上著名大师的作品展。作为父母，为什么要带孩子去看展？带孩子看展时，我们是否抱有一些特别的期待？我们自己本身是否享受看展的过程，还是把它当成一项任务，要给孩子“艺术熏陶”？

我们希望和大家探讨，艺术、生活与教育的关系。去美术馆、博物馆，事实上并不比去游乐场、动物园更“高级”。是什么让“艺术”和“创作”成为遥不可及的东西，是什么让我们受困于“大师”的标签，忘记了“大师”其实也和我们一样，是鲜活的人。

换一个角度看待大师，换一个角度理解艺术，让我们和孩子的生命都变得更自由。

——什么对“我”很重要？

最近在「创意故事家」的项目中，我们借由一本绘本，向孩子们抛出了关于“重要”的问题。这些问题看似非常宏大，也很哲学，但孩子们的反馈给了我们很多惊喜。

在他们创作的关于“重要”的小书中：

有的孩子说：“我很重要，不是因为我长的好不好看，也不是因为我有多厉害，（而是）因为我可以种下一颗种子，给大自然加上美丽；因为我可以帮助别人，给别人加上快乐。所以，我很重要。”

有的孩子说：“我很重要，因为我每天都在做事。”他创作的小书上，画了各式各样忙碌的万物。大树忙着生长，雨忙着下，猴子忙着摘香蕉，蚯蚓忙着掘土。在他眼中，万事万物都很重要，因为每天都在做事，同理，自己也一样。

那么，什么对孩子们很“重要”？

一位孩子说，牙齿掉了要收好很重要，同样重要的，还有用磁铁积木搭房子、读自己喜欢的书、自己画画以及和爸爸妈妈去旅行。还有孩子在小书里用加重字体写道：什么事情对我来说都很重要！

在孩子的眼里，他们是如何理解“重要”的呢？他们会认为自己“重要”还是“不重要”？什么事情对他们来说非常“重要”？我们通过讨论和创作，听了很多孩子们的心声。

Petr has recently been nominated for Yoto Carnegie Medal for Illustration for his latest picture book The Perfect Present. In the past 22 years, Petr has published over 60 picture books and board books. His beautiful books are always filled with glowing colors, exuberant artwork, lovable characters, and winsome stories, which appeal to young readers and adults alike. 

His first board books Strawberries Are Red and What Is Black and White? have won him the Books for Children Newcomer Award in 2001. These two books are still in print and popular among many countries.

One thing unique about her works is that her illustrations are made by plasticine so the images are very vivid and full of details, and the language is so poetic!

Barbara has received many awards, including the Ezra Jack Keats Award, the Vicky Metcalf Award for Literature for Young People, The Governor General’s Award for Illustration for The Party, and the Ruth and Sylvia Schwartz Award for The Subway Mouse. 

She's also the Honorary Chair of family literacy in Canada, and played a very important role in promoting reading and family literacy.

In this episode, we talked about her Book Picture the Sky, which has been translated into Chinese and published in China in 2020, what is promoting family literacy in Canada like and many more!

Lane has received the Lifetime Achievement award from the Society of Illustrators and has been honored by the Eric Carle Museum for “lifelong innovation in the field of children's books.” He is the author and illustrator of the New York Times bestseller It’s a Book which has been translated into over twenty-five languages and he has written and illustrated lots of otherstuff like Grandpa Green, which was a 2012 Caldecott Honor book and There Is a Tribe of Kids, which won the Kate Greenaway medal in 2017. Anna Walker is an award winning children's book illustrator and author based in Melbourne, Australia. She creates illustrations with a wide variety of mediums, such as watercolour, pencil and collage. Her book Florette was chosen by the New York Times as one of the top 10 best illustrated books of 2018. Mr Huff, won the 2016 CBCA Book of the Year for Early Childhood and was shortlisted in the 2016 Prime Minister’s Literary Awards. In this episode, Anna talked about her love for handcrafted work, how her childhood experience influences her creative work, and the story behind Florette. She also shared with us how she cultivated creativity in her children.

Oge Mora is a collage artist and storyteller. 

I was constantly impressed by her humor, optimism and enthusiastic laughters. Oge grew up in Columbus, Ohio but resides in Providence, RI. She is a fan of all things colorful, patterned, or collaged, and enjoys creating warm stories that celebrate people coming together.

Her debut picture book, Thank You, Omu!, which grew out of a class assignment when she was stuyding in Rhode Island School of Design, won the 2019 Caldecott Honor, Coretta Scott King John Steptoe Award, and Ezra Jack Keats Book Award. 

Her second book, Saturday won the 2020 Boston Globe—Horn Book Picture Book Award. Oge’s artwork has been applauded by The Washington Post, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, and The Boston Globe. She also recently made the Forbes 30 Under 30 2021 list in Arts & Style.

Sydney Smith is a children's book author and illustrator from Halifax, Canada. His illustrated works include Town Is by the Sea, Sidewalk Flowers, and I Talk Like a River. 2021年初，她仅用了六周就出版了一本记录疫情的绘本《Outside， Inside》，广受好评。这本书现在也引入中国。

LeUyen Pham is the award-winning and critically acclaimed illustrator of more than one hundred books for children. LeUyen (pronounced Lay-Win) is the  New York Times  bestselling illustrator. She illustrated the Caldecott Honor Book  Bear Came Along  by Richard Morris. 

Her latest self-authored endeavor, Outside, Inside, a chronicle of life in a Covid-bound world, was released in Spring of 2021. In this episode, we talked about her books, her experiences with art, the books that influenced her and much more!

Patrick George is a freelance illustrator and children's book author. His illustrations are concept-driven and have appeared in The Guardian, New Scientist, Washington Post, amongst many others. His innovative range of children’s books have been translated into 17 languages. His book Animal Rescue was nominated for the Kate Greenaway Medal for illustration. In this episode, Patrick shared with us his creative process, how he has learnt to see concepts and patterns from a unique perspective, and the story behind his acetate picture book series for children.

Cindy Derby is an American author and illustrator of many critically acclaimed books for children.  In 2021 she received a Caldecott Honor for her art in Outside Inby Deborah Underwood.  It was also named a Best Book of 2020 by The New York Times which describes her work as “profound” and “alive...mysterious, and wonderfully out of control.”  How to Walk an Ant and Two Many Birds  are two books written and illustrated by her.  She was a puppeteer and performer before she started to create books.

当Marion成为两个男孩的母亲，开始和他们一起读童书，并不是所有书都令她满意。Marion萌生了一个念头：自己创作适合孩子阅读的书籍。恰好有一个契机，Marion受邀创作一些给孩子们的活动书（activity book），也就是后来我们看到的《Let's Make Some Great Art》系列。

在做活动书的过程中，Marion挑选了其中的几个角色，陆续创作了以艺术家小乌鸦Bob为主角的故事书《Bob the Artist》、《Bob's Blue Period》。2020年，第三本以Bob为主角的绘本《Bob Goes Pop》出版了。

这次访谈，我们从什么是创意聊起，探讨了Marion的新书《Bob Goes Pop》的创作灵感来源以及背后的一些故事，Marion还分享了自己作为两个男孩的母亲是如何给孩子做艺术启蒙的等等内容，希望Marion的作品和分享都能打开大家看世界的视角。

Cale Atkinson, author and illustrator of various children's books such as To the Sea, Explorers of the Wild, and Where Oliver Fits. Cale has a rejection letter folder in his house. Inside the folder is all the rejection letters he has ever received. In the interview, Cale talks about how throwing himself into work that he has no experience in contributes to the bold creator he embodies today. He also shares the one thing he always hopes to convey through his story.

《I Want My Hat Back》讲述了一只熊弄丢了帽子后，向一个个动物求助，最终发现他的帽子在兔子的头上。五个孩子在讨论中各自发表了对于偷窃以及惩罚的理解：
兔子偷帽子是对的吗？如果兔子并不是故意拿走帽子的呢？
熊把兔子吃掉作为惩罚是公正的吗？还有其他讨回公道的方式吗？
孩子们有经历或听说过哪些不公道的惩罚方式？

In this episode, five kids from Storyland had a roundtable discussion over Jon Klassen's picture book I Want My Hat Back. Each kid expressed their opinions about whether it was fair for the bear to eat the rabbit for stealing the hat and if there were other ways he could have got his hat back. At the end of the discussion, they also recalled some unfair punishments in their lives.

他是一位现居纽约绘本作家和插画师、畅销童书作家，代表作有《Hello Hello》,《A Stone Sat Still》和 《They All Saw A Cat》。其中《They All Saw A Cat》是他第一本自写自画的绘本，正式出版前有八家出版社通过拍卖的方式竞相争取出版权，最终由Chronic Books2016年出版，并于2017年获得凯迪克大奖。

除了艺术家的身份，Brendan还是一位激进的动物保护主义者，他真心地热爱动物和自然，并花了很多时间投入到动物和自然保护相关的事业中去。

In this episode, our guest is Brendan Wenzel, a New York Times bestselling author and illustrator. His debut book They All Saw a Cat was the recipient of a Caldecott Honor. Brendan is also a proud collaborator with groups working to protect and conserve wild places and creatures. Everybody Counts is an award-winning picture book by Norwegian author and illustrator Kristin Roskifte. To celebrate the publication of its Chinese edition in July, we talked to her about her inspiration and intentions behind this book that has 2769 individually drawn people. Kristin also answers several questions from her little Chinese readers at Storyland in the episode.

Dr. Christopher Willard is a lecturer at Harvard Medical School. Apart from teaching at Harvard, he is also a researcher on mindfulness for kids and teenagers and has published various picture books about mindful breathing, including Alphabreaths, Breathing Makes It Better, and The Breathing Book. In this episode, Christopher talks about how he practices mindfulness with his kids in their daily lives and shares his advice for people new to mindfulness.
