(Text 1)

M: There is an exhibition of Indian art at our school tomorrow. Want to come with me?

W: I’d love to, but Tyler Swift will perform in our city tomorrow, and I won’t miss it.

(Text 2)

W: Did you go to seeLa La Land on Valentine’s Day?

M: Oh, yes. The actors are great, and the music is wonderful! I just don’t like how it ends.

(Text 3)

W: John, is Mike coming for tea tomorrow?

M: No. He’s in China now. His boss sent him there to train some new employees last week.

W: Oh, I totally forgot that.

(Text 4)

W: Hi, Tom, we had to start the dinner without you.

M:I know. I left the office early butI was stuck in the traffic. So have you left any food for me?

W: I was just kidding. We were waiting for you. Now let’s set the table.

(Text 5)

W: So, Justin, what do you do in your free time?

M: I love sports. My favorites are tennis, baseball and soccer.

W: Wow!I also like sports. But I just watch them on TV.

(Text 6)

W: Mr. Brown, we’re on arrival.

M: It’s nice of you to see me off.Thank you.

W: We’ll miss you. I hope we’ll keep in touch.

M: Sure. You’ve been a great help in the past weeks. I hope you can go to Beijing sometime so that I can do the same for you.

W: Just don’t mention it. So when will yourflight take off?

M: In just an hour, I think I should go and have my ticket checked.

W: Well, have a great journey!

M:Thank you.

(Text 7)

W: What are you reading, Jack?

M: A health report about findings on loneliness.

W: What does it say?

M: It says recent research is helping challenge the idea that loneliness mainly affects older people.

W: What does that mean?

M: According to the research, young adults are more likely to feel lonely thanthose aged 65 and over. Generation Z havethe highest rates of loneliness compared to other age groups.

W: Luckily, I have many friends. But Mark living upstairs seems very lonely. He lives alone and hardly smiles.

(Text 8)

M: Good afternoon. I’m here to reprint a brochure for our hotel. Some pages need revising.

W: What exactly is the problem?

M: Well, some information is already out of date. Thereare also a couple of problems with the design. Firstly, the letters on the front page are far too small. So, increase the letters by 3 sizes.

W: OK, what else?

M: The information regarding the pool should be deleted on page 2.

W: But we can’t just leave the whole page blank.

M: Just fill it in with the introduction of ournewly-opened gym.

W: Isee.

M: What’s also bothering us is the description under the top photo on page 4.You canreplace the word with“reception”.

W: Is that all?

M: No, there is more. Turn to page 5. You’d better use a picture with the view of the hotel.

W: OK.

M: Let’s turn to the next page. According to the customers, the prices do not stand out, so change the print from black to red or blue to make it pop out.

W:I got it.

(Text 9)

M: Hello. Brian Parks speaking.

W: Oh hello, I’m calling about the ad for the car in the paper.

M: What would you like to know?

W:It’s my brother Jeff who’s interested actually.

M: Fine.It’s a Mini and it’s grey ... doesn’t show the dirt!

W: Have you been the only owner?

M:No, I’m the second one.

W: Now about the price, I see you’ve got it down as one thousand, two hundred and fifty pounds. So would you be prepared to go down to one thousand?

M: That’s really too low.

W: One thousand, one hundred?

M: I might be able to go to that.

W: You say it’s in good condition.

M: There were no major problems. The only thing isthatyou’d have to get a new tyre and a wiper in the near future ... though they are still OK. And the garage also mentioned that one headlight could probably do with replacing immediately.

W: So, would it be possible for him to see the car tomorrow?

M: Tomorrow?Wednesday? I’m afraid not.

W: Well, the day after that?

M: That’d be fine, yeah.

(Text 10)

Welcome to Camber’s Park.I’ll tell you some amazing things we offer.

Camber’s Park offers more than other theme parks. Like them, we havevariousexciting rides for all ages, but Camber’s Park also places strong emphasis on the educational experience for its visitors. Although it’s mainly an outdoor experience, we do have some indoor activities if the weather getsterrible.

The park was set up in 1997 by the Camberfamily but then taken over by new owners in 2004.Camber’s Park has over forty-five different rides and exhibits. All but one of theseare free once you have paid your entrance fee. We charge a small fee for our newest ride.

Then, I’ll tell you three major rides. Our newest ride is the River Adventure. No amount of protective clothing would make any difference, so only go on this ride if you’re prepared to get wet! Children under eight can go on this ride, but all under sixteen musthave an adult with them. Our Jungle Jim Rollercoaster is created for whole family enjoyment. Carriages have comfortable seating for up to eight people, with safety belts which must be worn at all times. Last, wehave Swoop Slide. There are no age or height restrictions. Be careful though ---- youmust have on long trousers so you won’t get any speed burns!

So come and make a day of it at Camber’s Theme Park!
