The troue of the mouse 一只老鼠的麻烦
A little mouse living on a farm
was looking through a crack in the wall one day
and saw the farmer
and his wife opening a package.
一天，一只住在农场的小老鼠透过墙上的洞看到农场主和他的妻子打开了一个包裹。
The mouse was intrigued by what food the package might contain.
小老鼠很好奇里面装的是什么好吃的食物。
He was aghast to discover that is was a mousetrap.
当他发现里面居然是一个老鼠夹时，非常震惊。
The mouse ran to the farmyard warning everyone:
于是它跑到农场的院子里向每一个动物警告说：
“There is a mousetrap in the house,
there is a mousetrap in the house.”
“屋里有一个老鼠夹！屋里有一个老鼠夹！”
The chicken raised his head and said,
“Mr. Mouse,
I can tell you this trap is a grave concern to you,
一只小鸡抬起头说：“老鼠先生，我敢说老鼠夹是专为你设置的，
but it has no consequence to me
and I cannot be bothered with it.”
不会给我带来任何后果，我用不着担心。”
The mouse turned to the pig,
but the pig said,
“I am so sorry Mr. Mouse,
but the trap is no concern of mine either!”
老鼠转向猪。但小猪说道：“我也很抱歉，老鼠先生，老鼠夹和我也没有任何关系。”
The mouse then turned to the bull,
only to hear
“It sounds like you have a proem Mr. Mouse,
but not one that concerns me.”
老鼠又去跟牛讲。老牛对它说：“听起来你好像遇到了麻烦，老鼠先生，但是这也不关我的事。”
The mouse returned to the house,
head down and dejected
that no one would help him or has concerned about his dilemma.
老鼠耷拉着脑袋回到屋子里，他感到很沮丧，因为没有谁愿意帮助它，没有谁为它的困境担心。
He knew he had to face the trap on his own.
它只有独自面对这个老鼠夹了。
That night the sound of a trap catching its prey
was heard throughout the house.
那天晚上大家都听到了夹子夹住东西的声音。
The farmer’s wife rushed to see what was caught.
农夫的妻子急忙跑过去看是什么被抓住了。
In the darkness she could not see
that it was a venomous snake
whose tail the trap had caught.
黑暗中她看不清，其实是一条毒蛇的尾巴被夹住了。
The snake bit the farmer’s wife.
The wife caught a bad fever
农夫的妻子被毒蛇咬了一口，发起了高热。
and the farmer knew the best way to treat a fever was with chicken soup.
农夫知道最好的退热办法是喝鸡汤，
The farmer took his hatchet to the farmyard
to get the soup’s main ingredient.
于是他拿着菜刀走进院子去取做汤的原料。
The wife got sicker and friends
and neighbors came by to take turns sitting with her round the clock.
农夫的妻子病得更重了，朋友和邻居们轮流来看她。
The farmer knew he had to feed them,
so he butchered the pig.
农夫必须招待他们，所以就把猪杀了。
The farmer’s wife did not get better,
农夫的妻子还是没有好转，
in fact she died and so many friends and family came to her funeral
that the farmer had to slaughter the bull to feed all of them.
最后还是死了，很多朋友和家人来参加她的葬礼，农夫只有杀牛来招待他们。
So the next time we hear that one of our teammates
is facing a problem and think it does not concern or effect us,
所以，下一次当我们听到同伴当中的一员遇到问题时，不要想这不关自己的事，不会影响自己。
let us remember that when anyone of us is in trouble,
we are all at risk.
记住，如果我们中任何一个人遇到麻烦，我们都将处于危险之中。
