supervise 英[ˈsu:pəvaɪz] 美[ˈsu:pərvaɪz]

词根vise 看，前缀super指在……之上，引申为在……之上看，监督，管理，指导，主管

Supervise 加名词后缀ion，supervision；

加名词后缀or，supervisor监督人，指导者，主管人

She supervisedthe children playing near the pool.

他监督孩子们在水池旁玩耍。

Very youngchildren should not be left to play without supervision.

太小的孩子在没有监督下不能独自搁着。

The drug shouldonly be used under medical supervision.

我前面已经讲过，英语思维表达模式是一般特殊型，即先总结再细节，先概括后分解，先结论后阐述，先主题后展开，先果后因。所以在语篇思维表达上也是遵循这样的规律。尤其是议论说明体裁文体更是这样！现在中国的新闻报道也都是采用西方的思维表达结构模式，先是最重要的导语放在最前面。

5段论文章模式：

My Dog, Baby

Mydog, Baby, is the best pet anyone could have. He is beautiful and easy to care for. Playing with him is lots of fun. He always takes care of me. Thereisn't a better pet anywhere.

Baby is a beautiful tricolorSheltie. He is mostly black withwhite and a bit of brown. Caring for him is easy because I simply have to makesure he has fresh water and food every day. I exercise him by throwing histoys. Baby isa good pet because he is nice looking and doesn't require much care.

Babyis lots of fun to play with. He loves to play catch. He follows mearound the house with a toy and drops it on my foot so I will kick it. He cancatch just about anything, but his favorite is chasing a Frisbee. I really havefun playing with Baby.

Babytakes care of me. He always follows me when I leave a room. When I am sittingon the couch he plops down right beside me. When we are outside in the woods healways makes sure that I keep up with the rest of the family. He always watchesout for me.

Asyou can see, Baby is a great pet. I am proud of him and he doesn't require much care.Playing with him is always enjoyable. He watches over me and keeps me safe. Baby is absolutely the best pet anyone could ever have!

我的狗，叫宝贝儿，是最棒的宠物，任何人本可以拥有。他很漂亮，很容易照看。和他玩很有趣。他总是照顾我。哪儿都没有这么好的宠物。

宝贝儿是一个漂亮的三色谢德兰牧羊犬。他全身大部分皮毛是黑加白，带点儿褐色。照顾他很容易，因为我必须确保他每天都有新鲜的水和食物。我用投掷他的玩具来锻炼他。宝贝儿是个乖宠物，因为他好看，还不需要太多的照顾。

和宝贝儿玩乐趣很多。他喜欢玩接球。他跟着我在房子里拿着一个玩具，把玩具扔在我的脚上，我就可以踢到玩具。他可以捕捉任何东西，但他最喜欢的是追逐飞盘。和宝贝儿玩真的很开心。

宝贝儿很照顾我。我离开房间时，他总是跟着我。当我坐在沙发上，他就扑通一声坐在我身旁。当我们在树林里的时候，他总是保证我能跟上家里的其他人。他总是守护着我。

我在前面讲过，英语思维表达以S+V主谓结构为主，名词化静态表达，所以英语句式结构最常用的就是系表结构，linkingverb系动词be就是最典型的表现形式，表达性质、特征、状态，可以接名词、动词、形容词、介词结构和that表语从句等。和系动词有相同功能的还有弱动词look、feel、become、smell、taste、turn、get等。
