To help students tell the difference between fact and fiction, a course titled with a Chinese phrase meaning "apparently right, but actually wrong" was launched at Fudan University in Shanghai this school year. The course brings disciplines together, and has a total of 17 subjects to be discussed. 
为了帮助学生辨别真伪，上海复旦大学这学期开设了一门名为"似是而非"的课程。这门课程综合了多门学科，共讨论17个主题。

These topics are centered on methods differentiating science from pseudoscientific beliefs, such as how strong the risk of vaccination is and how genes define destiny. It has attracted much attention, and been welcomed by students there. Over 1,000 students have chosen the course, and the topic on Weibo has won tens of thousands of thumbs-up among users in a gesture of support. 
这些主题均围绕如何区分科学和伪科学展开，譬如接种疫苗的风险大吗？基因能够算命吗？"似是而非"课程在复旦校内受到学生的广泛关注和欢迎。选课人数已经超过1000人，相关微博话题吸引数万名网友点赞。

It is necessary to teach such courses, as there are many highly-educated people, including experts and scholars, who harbor misconceptions and lack necessary judgment, said Lou Hongwei, a lecturer for the course.

授课讲师楼红卫表示，许多受过高等教育的人，包括一些专家学者，也会有错误的认知，缺乏必要的判断能力，因此开授此类课程非常有必要。

1st all-women spacewalk

'全女性'太空行走创历史

US astronauts Christina Koch and Jessica Meir stepped outside the International Space Station Friday morning, the first time in history that two women have done a spacewalk together. Koch and Meir were expected to spend more than five hours outside the space station to replace a failed power controller, but extended their spacewalk to "accomplish some get-ahead tasks on the space station," according to NASA.

The astronauts spoke with US President Donald Trump and Vice President Mike Pence during the spacewalk. The conversation marked the first time since the 1969 moon landing that a sitting president spoke directly to astronauts who were physically outside of a spacecraft in space, according to the White House.

Koch and Meir both joined NASA in 2013, the year NASA's astronaut class was 50% female. Koch is also on her way to making history with a 300-day mission, which will be the longest single spaceflight by a woman.

Online safety for minors

The draft revision to the Minors Protection Law, which highlights the importance of online protection for juveniles, was submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for its first review on Monday. In a new chapter called "Internet Protection", legislators began by giving a nod to minors' proper internet use. The 11-clause chapter lays out duties for governments, schools, parents and digital service providers as to their responsibilities in navigating youngsters through cyberspace. 

21日，未成年人保护法修订草案首次提请全国人大常委会会议审议，草案突出了"未成年人网络保护"的重要性。在新增设的"网络保护"章节中，立法者首先肯定了未成年人合理使用网络的权利。这一章共11条，规定了政府、学校、家长以及数字服务供应商在引导青少年使用网络方面的责任。

Internet enterprises are ordered to set various functions, such as time management or consumption restrictions, in their online products and services to allow parents or guardians to prevent their children from indulging in cyberspace. The chapter forbids threats, insults and attacks on minors in written, visual or audio forms and empowers parents and other guardians to demand service providers remove such content.

草案要求互联网企业在其产品和服务中设置时间管理、消费限制等功能，使父母或者其他监护人能预防未成年人沉迷网络。该章节还禁止组织或者个人以文字、图片、音视频形式威胁、侮辱、攻击未成年人，受害未成年人的父母或者其他监护人可以要求网络服务提供者删除此类内容。

Ant Financial tops unicorns

胡润首发全球独角兽榜

Hurun Report Inc on Monday released the Hurun Global Unicorn List 2019, a rank of the world's billion-dollar startup companies, for the first time. The report found 494 unicorn companies across 118 cities in 24 countries. China's Ant Financial topped the list with a valuation of $150 billion, followed by China's ByteDance and Didi Chuxing. 

21日，胡润百富公司首次发布《2019胡润全球独角兽榜》，对全球估值10亿美元的初创企业进行排名。报告发现全球有494家独角兽企业，分布在24个国家的118个城市。中国的蚂蚁金服以1500亿美元的估值位居榜首，中国的字节跳动和滴滴出行排名紧随其后。

According to the report, Beijing is where most of the world's unicorns are based, with a total of 82 unicorn companies. The city is followed by San Francisco and Shanghai. Rupert Hoogewerf, chairman of Hurun Report Inc, said at the ongoing World Internet Conference on Sunday that China's development of advanced technologies has made it the most popular destination of choice for unicorn companies.

报告显示，北京是全球大多数独角兽企业的总部所在地，共有82家独角兽企业，旧金山和上海紧随其后。20日，胡润百富公司董事长罗伯特•胡润在正在举行的世界互联网大会上表示，中国先进技术的发展已使其成为最受独角兽企业欢迎的目的地。
