外卖小哥'诗词大会'夺冠

A 37-year-old fast food courier from Central China's Hunan province, Lei Haiwei, beat other competitors, including a master's degree graduate from Peking University, in the third season of the Chinese Poetry Conference on China Central Television. 

来自我国中部湖南省的一名37岁快餐快递员雷海为战胜其他竞争者，当中包括一位来自北京大学的硕士毕业生，赢得中国中央电视台举办的《中国诗词大会》第三季的冠军。

Born in a village in Dongkou county, Shaoyang city, Lei inherited his father's love of poems. Though Lei came to Hangzhou city in 2008 and works as a fast food courier, his love for poems hasn't faded. Even on his busiest work days, the courier seizes any available moment to recite poems.

雷海为出生于邵阳市洞口县，他继承了父亲对诗词的热爱。2008年雷海为来到杭州做起了快餐快递员，但他对于诗词的热爱却没有减弱。即便在工作最忙的日子里，他只要一有空闲就背诗。

King's watch sets record

埃及国王古董手表拍卖

A Patek Philippe watch once owned by Egypt's King Farouk sold for $912,500 at a Christie's auction in Dubai, an official from the auction house said, setting a record for a watch sold in the Middle East.

佳士得拍卖行的一位官员称，埃及国王法鲁克用过的一只百达翡丽表在迪拜以91.25万美元的价格售出，创造了中东手表拍卖记录。

 "I am not surprised the watch went up to a hammer price of $750,000," an associated specialist in the watch department at Christie's said. In the end, the watch's sale tag of $912,500 included a buyer's premium. 

佳士得拍卖行手表部门一位行业专家表示："这块手表的成交价一路升到75万美元，对此我毫不惊讶。"加上买家的加价，最终这块手表的售价为91.25万美元。

King Farouk, Egypt's last king, was a collector of rare watches, cars and coins. Made in 1944 and embossed with an old Egyptian royal crest, the Patek Philippe 1518 with perpetual calendar (万年历) and chronograph (计时仪) is said to be one of only 281 such models ever made by the prestigious Swiss watchmaker.

法鲁克国王是埃及最后一位国王，他喜欢收藏稀世钟表、汽车和硬币。这款百达翡丽1518系列手表生产于1944年，镶有古埃及皇家羽饰，带有万年历和记时仪。据说瑞士这家享有盛誉的钟表制造商仅生产了281块同款手表。

我国摄影师斩获国际奖

With the photo, "Hello, Mama", Chinese amateur photographer Ding Kuanliang won The World of Mammals category of the Glanzlichter 20th International Competition of Nature Photography. The 58-year-old bank clerk from Hohhot, Inner Mongolia autonomous region, is the first Chinese to win in this category. 

近日，我国业余摄影师丁宽亮凭借作品《你好妈妈》，获得第20届国际自然摄影大赛哺乳动物组亮点奖。58岁的丁宽亮是内蒙古自治区呼和浩特市的银行职员，是首位获得此类奖项的中国人。

The photo vividly features a little golden snub-nosed monkey calling his mother when he finds wild kiwis for a meal. Ding has been shooting these "cute but endangered animals" for 17 years and has taken over 150,000 pictures of them so far. 

获奖照片记录了一只小川金丝猴在找到野生猕猴桃食用时呼唤妈妈的场景。丁宽亮拍摄这些"可爱的濒危动物"已有17年了，截至目前已为这些动物拍摄照片逾15万张。

"Some of the rare species, such as the golden snub-nosed monkeys, might be extinct eventually, so I want to use the power of photography to make people be more concerned about them," Ding said.

他表示："有些稀有物种如川金丝猴最终也许会灭绝，所以我想借助摄影的力量让人们更多地关注它们"。

美国男子患癌告赢强生

Stephen Lanzo, 46, a New Jersey investment banker, sued Johnson & Johnson, claiming its talcum powder products he used for over 30 years gave him mesothelioma. 

近日，美国新泽西州46岁投资银行家史蒂芬?兰佐起诉强生公司，称他因三十多年来一直使用该公司的滑石爽身粉产品而患上间皮瘤。

The suit brought by Lanzo and his wife Kendra claims the cosmetics giant and its supplier knew the powder could contain cancer-causing asbestos but failed to warn the public. 

兰佐及妻子肯德拉指控化妆品巨头强生和其供应商在明知该粉末可能含有致癌物质石棉的情况下却未向公众发出警告。

The jury agreed with Lanzo. Johnson & Johnson was liable for 70% of the damages, with the other 30% coming from the supplier. Lanzo was awarded $30 million, and his wife $7 million. The ruling could leave the company open to further bombshell payouts.

陪审团支持兰佐的控诉，判决强生公司对此案件负70%的责任，滑石粉供应商负30%的责任，兰佐获赔3000万美元，其妻获赔700万美元。这一判决可能使强生公司接下来面临更多突如其来的索赔。
