Godzilla vs. Kong, the fourth film in Legendary Pictures' MonsterVerse, roared into Chinese mainland theaters on March 26, five days ahead of the North American release.

3月26日，传奇影业“怪兽宇宙”的第四部电影《哥斯拉大战金刚》在中国大陆影院上映，比北美上映时间提前了5天。

The film marks the first time that these two titans have had an epic punch-up on the big screen in the Chinese mainland, playing on more than 40,000 screens including over 700 installed with the immersive-experience IMAX systems.

这部电影标志着两只巨兽首次在中国大陆的银幕上开展了一场史诗般的战斗，它在4万多块银幕上放映，其中700多块银幕安装了提供沉浸式体验的IMAX系统。

Interestingly, the 67-year-old Godzilla, whose first film came out in 1954, and the 88-year-old Kong, who debuted in the 1933 film King Kong, met for a showdown many years ago.

有趣的是，67岁的哥斯拉（其首部电影于1954年上映）和88岁的金刚（首次亮相于1933年的电影《金刚》）曾在许多年前相逢一决胜负。

In 1962, the famous Japanese company, Toho Studios, released the 97-minute feature, King Kong vs. Godzilla, featuring an all-Japanese cast. The movie was the two protagonists' first and only clash until the 2021 film reunited them.

1962年，著名的日本公司东宝影业推出了时长97分钟的影片《金刚大战哥斯拉》，全片由日本演员出演。在2021年的电影让两位主角重逢之前，这部电影是他们第一次也是唯一一次打斗。

According to the US channel Screen Rant, Godzilla hit and injured Kong with his powerful atomic breath in their first showdown during a fierce battle on Mount Fuji, but King Kong "got another shot at Godzilla when a lightning bolt fueled him with energy".  

据美国影视频道Screen Rant介绍，当两位主角第一次决战时，在富士山上一场激烈的战斗中，哥斯拉用强大的原子吐息击伤了金刚，但“一束闪电让金刚蓄满了能量，再次攻击了哥斯拉”。

The synopsis continues, "After getting his second wind, Kong overpowered Godzilla and the two went tumbling into the ocean. Kong was seen as the victor when he alone emerged from the water."

The film achieved great box office success, even inspiring Toho Studios to prepare for a sequel titled, Continuation: King Kong vs. Godzilla, though the project was later cancelled.

Now, the two world-renowned monsters will reunite on-screen, with hardcore fans speculating who the victor will be, and showing support for their creature of choice.

In the new film directed by Adam Wingard, the ancient ape, Kong, is escorted by a fleet of the scientific organization, Monarch, to seek a mysterious energy underneath the Earth. The adventure enrages Godzilla, triggering two rounds of cataclysmic clashes, complete with a jaw-dropping twist and a mighty new nemesis.

Monsters are the stars of the show. But human actors largely play stereotyped and forgettable characters.

Diehard fans of Godzilla and Kong say they are satisfied with the new film as Warner Bros and Legendary Pictures listened to fans and gave them a tale studded with heavy visual effects and epic battles.
