On this evening the chief forces of the island were disposed as follows. The lost boys were out looking for Peter, the pirates were out looking for the lost boys, the redskins were out looking for the pirates, and the beasts were out looking for the redskins. They were going round and round the island, but they did not meet because all were going at the same rate.
这天晚上,梦幻岛的主要成员是被这么分配的:男孩子们出去寻找彼得,海盗出去寻找那些男孩,印第安人出去寻找海盗,野兽出去寻找印第安人。他们在岛上一圈又一圈地转着,但却并没有碰面,因为他们行动的速度是一样的。

“I will call again in the evening,” Slightly said; “give her beef tea out of a cup with a spout to it”; but after he had returned the hat to John he blew big breaths [brɛθs], which was his habit on escaping from a difficulty.

CHAPTER7 THE HOME UNDER THE GROUND 第七章 地下的家
It consisted of one large room, as all houses should do, with a floor in which you could dig if you wanted to go fishing,
它有一个大房间,就像每个家里都有的那样,而且如果你想去钓鱼,那直接在地板上挖坑就行了;

By tea-time it was always about two feet high, and then they put a door on top of it, the whole thus becoming a table; as soon as they cleared away, they sawed off the trunk again, and thus there was more room to play.
而到下午茶歇的时候,树干就会又长得差不多有两英尺高了。这时候孩子们把一块门板放在上面,树干便成了一张桌子。孩子们在茶歇后会再次把树干锯掉,这样就又有地方用来玩耍了。
