Mittens sits in the grass. He  is all alone. 

小手套孤单地坐在草丛中。

He is looking for some fun.

他想找些有趣的事情做。

Mittens hits his old ball.

他拍着他的破旧的球。

Smack!

啪！

He smells a worm.

他闻到了虫子的味道。

Sniff!

嗅嗅嗅！

Mittens flips his tail back and  forth, back and forth.

小手套来回摇摆着他的尾巴。

Then he hears, Scratch!  Scratch!

然后他听到抓东西的声音。

What's that, Mittens? 

那是什么，小手套？

What's  scratching behind the fence? 

是什么东西在栅栏后面抓？

Mittens runs to the fence.

小手套跑去篱笆那里。

He scratches in the dirt.  Scratch! Scratch!

他在土里面抓啊抓！

Ruff！Ruff！

汪汪！

What's that, Mittens?

那是什么，小手套？

What's barking behind the  fence?

什么东西在栅栏后面叫？

Mittens meows by the fence.  Meow! Meow!

小手套在栅栏旁边喵喵地叫着。

Dig! Dig! 

挖！挖！

What's that, Mittens?

那是什么，小手套？

What's digging behind the fence?

什么东西正在栅栏后面挖着？

Mittens  digs deep. Dig! Dig!

小手套挖得很深。挖啊挖！

Mittens stops digging.

小手套不再挖了。

He looks  under the fence.

他往栅栏下看了看。

Soon there is a big hole.

不久后，就出现了一个大大的洞。

Mittens sees Max.

小手套看见了麦克斯。

Face to face.

他们脸对脸。

Nose to nose.

鼻子对鼻子。

Eye to eye.

眼睛对眼睛。

Sniff! Sniff! Mittens likes  Max.

嗅一嗅！小手套喜欢麦克斯。

Lick! Lick! Max likes Mittens,  too.

舔一舔！麦克斯也喜欢小手套。

Mittens has found a friend!

小手套找到了一个朋友！
