The construction of Jakarta-Bandung high-speed railway inIndonesia entered the phase of alignment joint-test onMay 22, marking a new major progress in the construction of the railway andlaying the foundation for its full operation. The construction of theJakarta-Bandung high-speed railway started in June 2018. At present, theconstruction of the project is progressing smoothly. The civil works such asroadbeds, bridges and culverts, and tunnels have all been completed.Track-laying and the four engineering projects of communications, signal, power,and power traction power supply have also beencompleted in general. After the alignment joint-test,the operation test and safety assessment will be carried out, and thehigh-speed railway will become operational after the above-mentioned works arecompleted.
The Jakarta-Bandunghigh-speed railway connects Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia, and Bandung, afamous tourist city, with a total length of about 142 kilometers and a maximumdesign speed of 350 kilometers per hour. This is a landmark project of the Beltand Road construction and the practicalcooperation between China and Indonesia. It is also the first time for China’shigh-speed railway to be built overseas with the whole system, full elements and the whole industrial chain, with Chinese technology and standards as well. Once this high-speed railway is completed,travel time between the two cities will be reduced frommore than three hours to 40 minutes.
