the roaring river 咆哮的河
Suki was the new dinosaur in the valley . 
苏基（Suki）是山谷里搬来的新恐龙。
She lived near a roaring river with her mum and dad . 
她和她的爸爸妈妈一起住在咆哮河的河边，
With her huge sail , big snout and long
claws , Suki looked fierce .
她有个巨大背鳍，巨大的嘴巴和长的爪子。
 这些让苏基看上去很凶猛。 
But all she wanted was to make Some friends.
The other dinosaurs were afraid of Suki , and this made her sad and lonely.
但是她最想要的只是结交些朋友，但是其他的恐龙害怕苏基，这使她感到悲伤和孤独。
One day Suki went for a walk through the valley.有一天，苏基在山谷中散步。 
She spotted a little Bambiraptor who looked like she would make a good friend. 
她发现了一个小小的斑比盗龙，看起来她会成为一个好朋友。
''Hello!'' , she said . " I'm Suki, I'm new here. ''
“你好！”她说。  “我是苏基，我是新搬来的。”
But Suki's sail cast a huge shadow over the Iittle Bambiraptor , whose name was Beth.  
但是苏基的背鳍把这只名字叫贝丝的斑比盗龙完全笼罩在阴影里。
She was so frightened that she ran off without even saying her name.
她被吓坏了，以至于她甚至还没说自己的名字就逃跑了。
Next , Suki came across a little Bagaceratops
chomping on grass.
接下来，苏基碰到了一个小弱角龙在草地上啃食。
A bird had landed on his bottom.有一只鸟落在了他的屁股上。
''Excuse me , you have a bird on your bottom ! " laughed Suki.
“不好意思，你的屁股上有只鸟！  ” 苏基笑着说。
The Bagaceratops, whose name was Billy. 
Turned around and had the fright of his life. 
那只弱角龙，他名字叫比利。 他转过身来，吓了一大跳。
Sukis huge jaws were wide open as she
roared with laughter.
苏基的巨大的嘴巴张开了，放声大笑。
Bily plodded away as fast as he could.
比利连滚带爬的竭力逃跑了。
On her way home Suki spotted an Avimimus . 
苏基在回家的路上看见了一只鸟形龙。
''I'll try to make a friend one last time '', she thought.她想：“我会最后一次尝试结交朋友”。
Suki waved . But the Avimimus , whose name was Amy , took one look at Sukis razor-sharp
claws and ran off.
苏基挥了挥手。 但是，名叫艾米的鸟形龙看到了苏基那锋利如剃刀一般爪子，又逃跑了。
At home , Suki felt sad . " Why are you so sad ?'' asked her mum.
回到家里，苏基感到很难过。  “你为什么这么难过？”她的妈妈她问。
''No one wants to be my friend, because they're scared of me.''said Suki.
苏基说：“没人愿意成为我的朋友，因为他们都害怕我。”
''Give them time to get to know you ,'' said her mum.
她的妈妈告诉她说：“给他们时间去认识你。”
''Then , they'll see how lovely you are and they won't be scared anymore. ''
“然后，他们会知到你有多可爱，他们就不会再害怕了。  ''
Suki felt happier after talking to her mum. 
She ran off to find the other dinosaurs. 
苏基与妈妈交谈后感到舒服多了，她又跑去寻找其他恐龙们。
Beth , Billy and Amy were playing by the roaring river , so Suki went over to say a
proper hello.
贝丝，比利和艾米在咆哮的河水旁玩耍，因此苏基想走过去好好地跟他们打个招呼。
The river suddenly burst its banks and water crashed over the young dinosaurs.
可是河水突然冲上了河岸，水淹没了年轻的小恐龙们。
''HELP !'' they yelled to Suki.“救命！”他们对苏基大喊。
Suki staggered to her feet.
苏基蹒跚地站了起来。
She was just big enough to stand up in the water. But the little dinosaurs were not so lucky . 
她的个子足够大，可以在水中站立。 但是其他小恐龙却没有那么幸运。
The raging river tossed and jostled them , and carried them downstream.
汹涌的河水将它们抛上抛下，并将他们带到下游。
''HELP !'' they all screamed.他们都尖叫着救命。
''I'm coming !'' shouted Suki.“我来了！”苏琪大喊。
Beth was nearest to Suki . She bravely clung to a tree root.  Suki struggled against the water and waded over to Beth.

''Clumb up my sail, and hold on tight.'' Suki said gently . And she helped Beth onto her sail.

Further upstream Billy clung to a log.比利在远一点的上游处，他紧紧地抓住一段原木。
Suki pushed against the current to get to
him . It was harder now with Beth on her back.

''keep still , don't be scared " Suki told Billy when she reached him.

Then she carefully picked him up in her huge jaws and held him above the water.

A long way upstream Amy was sprawled on a rock . the river was swirling around Suki.

It was hard carrying both Beth and Billy. 
But at last Suki reached Amy . 同时负担着贝丝和比利让苏基很辛苦，但是最后她还是到达了艾米的位置。
Calmly she picked her up with her long claws . Then with all three little dinosaurs safely in her care
她冷静地用长长的爪子抱起她。 然后小心地照顾着所有三个小恐龙。
Suki waded to the bank.苏基蹒跚地爬上河岸。
The dinosaurs families were all waiting on the bank . They were so happy to see Suki and the
little dinosaurs safely reach dry land.
所有恐龙家族都在岸边等待着。 他们都很高兴见到苏基和小恐龙们可以安全地到达陆地。
''You're a real friend now'' , said Suki's mum with a Smile. “你现在是一个真正的朋友了，” 苏基的妈妈笑着说。
''But find a safer place to play, away from the river .''

The dinosaurs in the valley weren't afraid of Suki anymore.山谷中的恐龙们都不再害怕苏基了。
And Suki loved her brand new friends .
苏琪也爱她的那群新朋友。
