新闻数据的特点一：数据的类型常与新闻的类型密切相关。

经济新闻：价格、货币、贸易、比例

气象新闻：温度的计量

灾难事故类新闻：灾难发生的时间及死亡、受伤或被救援的人数 

体育新闻：比分或排名

新闻数据的特点二：新闻播报常常将大额或者复杂的数据用约数来替代。

高于：above,over, more than, higher than

约等于：about,almost, approximately, around, nearly, roughly, some, more or less,

低于：under,below, less than, lower than

表示时间的常用英文表达：

年份：

四个数字分为两组   1986  nineteen eighty-six

后两位均为0        1800  eighteen hundred

第三个数字为0      1807  eighteen O seven

千年                2008   two thousand (and) eight / twenty O eight

日期：

中文（年-月-日）    2017年3月3日

英式（日-月-年）    3rd March, 2017    March the third, twenty seventeen

美式（月-日-年）    March 3rd, 2017    March the third, twenty seventeen

常用替换表达：

10 years= a decade

20 years=a score      

100 years= a century

表示金钱数额的常用英文表达：

货币单位：

人民币  yuan  （无单复数变化）

英镑     pound   便士penny （复数是pence ）

欧元    euro

美元     dollar    25美分quarter   1美分 cent

             1 dollar=4quarters=100 cents

价格、金额表述方式：

$15.65     fifteen dollars sixty-five cents     

                fifteen dollars sixty-five

                fifteen sixty-five

￡10.50    ten pounds fifty pence

                 ten poundsfifty

                 ten fifty  (纠正错误)

$ 8.4 million   eight point four million dollars

占比、比重的常用英文表达：

百分比   

10 %   ten percent / ten out of one hundred

0.35%  zero point three five percent

分数      

1/2     a / one half / one over two

温度的常用英文表达：

℃   摄氏    Celsius / Centigrade

℉ 华氏    Fahrenheit

零下    below zero / negative /minus
