holidays.
my
friends
and
i
decided
to
meet
at
the
beach
for
a
picnic.
as
my
parents
had
to
leave
for
work
that
day,
they
left
my
six-year-old
sister
in
my
care.
when
we
reached
the
beach,
the
sun
shone
brilliantly
and
the
water
glittered
invitingly.
the
coconut
trees
swayed
to
the
gentle
breeze
in
the
warm
sunshine.
to
my
surprise,
my
friends
were
not
at
the
beach
yet.
they
were
unlikely
to
arrive
late.
at
about
a
hundred
metres
away,
there
was
a
large
crowd.
some
were
shouting
and
some
were
waving
frantically.
i
held
my
sister
by
her
hands
and
walked
towards
the
crowd.
i
gawked
with
disbelief.
it
was
a
dolphin;
it
was
still
struggling
to
return
to
the
sea.
i
finally
found
my
friends
and
they
told
me
that
they
were
swimming
when
a
huge
wave
washed
the
dolphin
onto
the
shore.
not
long
after,
the
civil
defence
force
cordoned
off
the
area
and
tried
to
help
the
dolphin
get
back
into
the
sea.
soon
after,
the
media
and
the
camera
crew
arrived.
they
interviewed
the
on-lookers
and
photographed
the
dolphin.
finally,
the
civil
defece
force
managed
to
get
the
dolphin
back
to
the
sea.
before
it
retured,
the
dolphin
looked
back
and
made
a
noise
as
if
it
was
saying
"thank
you"
to
everybody.
it
was
indeed
an
eye
and
mind
opening
experience
for
my
sister
and
me.
