Hello, this is Jane Goodall, and I want to send a message to the Chinese people who are suffering so terribly from this outbreak of the coronavirus. It is a truly terrible time you're going through, and my heart is with all who are sick all who have lost loved ones.

你好，我是珍妮·古道尔，我想向在这次冠状病毒爆发中遭受巨大痛苦的中国人民传递一个讯息。这是你们正在经受的一个真正可怕的时刻。我的心与所有生病或失去亲人的人同在。

I just hope and pray that the nightmare will soon be over. I also hope and pray that the nightmare may end, for the wild animals who are captured and kept in horrible conditions for food.

我只是希望并祈祷噩梦快点结束。我也希望并祈祷，对于那些被捕获并被关在可怕环境中作为食物的野生动物来说，噩梦也许将会结束。

Or because some people believe that various animal parts can be used to cure diseases or give people strength and virility. Because animals bears, pangolins, civets, bats rhinos and so on. They all have feelings just like us, like us they suffer pain, like us they know fear, loneliness and despair. 

或者因为有些人相信各种各样的动物器官可以用来治疗疾病或给人带来力量和活力。因为动物：熊、穿山甲、果子狸、蝙蝠、犀牛等等。它们都和我们一样有感情。和我们一样，它们也会遭受痛苦。和我们一样，它们知道恐惧、孤独和绝望。

All over the world we've been destroying the places where animals live in order to get materials to build our homes, our cities and to make our own lives more comfortable. And as a result we've brought the climate crisis on ourselves.

在世界各地，我们一直在破坏动物的栖息地，以便获得建造我们的家园、我们的城市的材料，并使我们自己的生活更加舒适。结果，我们给自己带来了气候危机。

Many species of animals and plants have become extinct and are too close relationship with wild animals in the markets, or when we use them for entertainment has unleashed the terror and misery of new viruses.

许多动植物物种已经灭绝，它们与市场上的野生动物关系过于密切，或者当我们把它们用作娱乐时，释放了新病毒的恐怖和痛苦。

Viruses that exist in animals without harming them, but mutate them to other forms to infect us with new diseases like Ebola, SARS, mares and now the coronavirus.

这些病毒存在于动物体内，不会对动物造成伤害，但会变异成其它形式，从而让我们感染埃博拉、非典、中东呼吸综合征等新疾病，现在又有了冠状病毒。

We have amazing brains. We're capable of love and compassion for each other. Let us also show love and compassion for the animals who are with us on this planet. Let us all live in peace and harmony together. Thank you!
