泰戈尔《吉檀迦利》

1913年，泰戈尔凭借《吉檀迦利》获得诺贝尔文学奖。

这部宗教抒情诗集，是一份“奉献给神的祭品”。（不少人以为“吉檀迦利”是奉献之意，其实是献诗之意）泰戈尔向神敬献的歌是“生命之歌”，他以轻快、欢畅的笔调歌唱生命的枯荣、现实生活的欢乐和悲哀。

诺贝尔文学奖颁奖词这么评价《吉檀迦利》：“其特点为思想的极大深度”，是呈现“灵魂对永恒的渴望”而又“充满诗意的思想”的清新、优美的诗歌。

《吉檀迦利》共103首，单看均可独立成篇。

天刚破晓，我就驱车起行，穿遍广漠的世界，在许多星球之上，留下辙痕。

Give me the strength lightly to bear my joys and sorrows.
请赐给我力量使我能轻闲地承受欢乐与忧伤。

Give me the strength to make my love fruitful in service.
请赐给我力量使我的爱在服务中得到果实。

Give me the strength never to disown the poor or bend my knees before insolent might.
请赐给我力量使我永不抛弃穷人也永不向淫威屈膝。

Give me the strength to raise my mind high above daily trifles.
请赐给我力量使我的心灵超越于日常琐事之上。

And give me the strength to surrender my strength to thy will with love.
再赐给我力量使我满怀爱意地把我的力量服从你意志的指挥。
