香港回归25周年

——内地和国际金融市场的“超级联络人”

Hello everyone, I' m Zhu Zhu, I' m now in Guangzhou, Guangdong province. 

Why Hong Kong is known as a "super connector" between China and the international market, especially in the financial sector? 

为什么香港被称为是连接中国与国际市场、尤其是金融领域的“超级联络人” 呢？

Since China's reform and opening up in 1978, about 60 percent of the global capital into the mainland has been invested through Hong Kong. 

1978年中国改革开放以来，约有60%的境外投资是通过香港流入内地。

The city is the largest source of foreign direct investment in the mainland and the largest overseas listing place for Chinese domestic companies. 

香港是中国内地最大的海外直接投资来源地，也是中资企业选择海外上市的首选之地。

There are also some new financial measures that have boosted cooperation between the two sides. One great example is the cross-boundary wealth management connect scheme in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. 

此外，一些新的金融措施也促进了双方的合作。例子之一就是粤港澳大湾区“跨境理财通”业务。

It was launched in September last year and is one of the key initiatives under the mutual market access systems between the capital markets of Hong Kong, Macao and the Mainland. 

它于去年9月启动，是推进内地与香港澳门资本市场相互市场准入机制的重要举措之一。

Since the launch of the cross-boundary wealth management connect, nearly 26,000 individual have invested in the Greater Bay Area, purchasing investment products worth about 360 million yuan, or about 54 million U.S. dollars. 

自“跨境理财通”在大湾区启动以来，有近2.6万人投资参与，购买了市值约3.6亿元人民币（约合5400万美元）的投资产品。

Meanwhile, the connect has also become an important channel for domestic investors to make cross-border securities investment, stepping into the international market. Official data shows by the end of last year, China's foreign financial assets reached 9.3 trillion U.S. dollars, of which foreign exchange reserves were about 3.3 trillion U.S. dollars, hitting a new high since 2016. 

与此同时，“跨境理财通”也成为国内投资者跨境证券投资、进入国际市场的重要渠道。官方数据显示，截至去年年底，中国对外金融资产达到9.3万亿美元，其中外汇储备约3.3万亿美元，创2016年以来新高。

In the past decade, Hong Kong has been playing an important role in the internationalization of RMB. In 2009, China began to carry out the pilot project of RMB settlement of cross border trade, and Hong Kong has maintained a leading position in processing global RMB payment transactions. 

在过去的十年里，香港在人民币国际化方面也发挥了重要作用。2009年，中国开始开展跨境贸易人民币结算试点，香港在处理全球人民币支付交易方面继续保持领先地位。

Last year, the transaction quota of Hong Kong's RMB real time payment and settlement hit a year on year increase of about 27 percent, growing for the fifth consecutive year. The city is expected to continue to be a strong connector for financial cooperation between China and the international market. 

去年香港的人民币实时支付结算交易额度增长了约27%，保持了五年连续增长。香港将继续作为内地与国际市场金融合作的重要纽带。
