第28期：Wedding Day 婚礼

Wendi: Talk about the best wedding you've ever been to and if you can kind of think about what it was and and what the atmosphere was like when you walked in.
温迪：请你谈谈你参加过的最棒的婚礼，和我们讲讲那场婚礼的情况还有你进入婚礼现场时的气氛。


James: OK, the actual wedding ceremony?


詹姆斯：好，实际的婚礼吗?


Wendi: Yeah, sure.


温迪：对，当然。


James: OK.


詹姆斯：好。


Wendi: Tell me about it.


温迪：请说吧。


James: Now?


詹姆斯：现在吗?


Wendi: Yeah.


温迪：对。


James: My sister's wedding. It was in a small village church near her house. I was givingher away, so it was wonderful. We walked into the church, and I led her down the aisle and they were listening to, they didn't have traditional music. They had Beattles music playing.


詹姆斯：我认为最棒的是我妹妹的婚礼。我妹妹的婚礼是在她家附近的一所乡村小教堂举行的。我把她交给了新郎，感觉太棒了。我们走进教堂，我牵着她走上红毯，走向神坛，婚礼伴奏并不是传统的婚礼音乐，而是披头士的歌曲。


Wendi: Really.


温迪：真的吗?


James: And it was really beautiful and yeah, it was an amazing wedding.


詹姆斯：对，那是一场既美好又很棒的婚礼。


Wendi: Yeah.


温迪：好。


James: She looked absolutely stunning and my family were there, just close friends of my sister and then after the wedding they had the reception at my sister's back garden.


詹姆斯：她那天非常漂亮，出席婚礼的只有家人和我妹妹的密友，婚礼仪式结束之后，他们在我妹妹家的后花园举办了婚宴。


Wendi: Right.


温迪：好。


James: And it was just wonderful.


詹姆斯：那简直太美好了。


Wendi: That sounds really beautiful.


温迪：听起来非常好。


James: No fuss, just really easy. Just a big family gathering and it was really, really a lovely day. It rained all day as well.


詹姆斯：婚礼并没有很隆重，而是非常简单。就像是大型的家庭聚会，那真是美妙的一天。那天一整天都在下雨。


Wendi: Did it really?


温迪：是吗?


James: And it made no difference whatsoever.


詹姆斯：天气并没有什么影响。


Wendi: Wow, that sounds pretty special.


温迪：哇，听起来非常特别。


James: Yeah, the next-door neighbors did all the food and they were caterers so the food was magnificent.


詹姆斯：对，邻居们帮忙准备了所有的婚宴食物，因为他们是宴席供应人，所以他们准备的食物非常棒。


Wendi: Wow.


温迪：哇。


James: It was special because of the atmosphere rather than anything else. It didn't cost much money, but it was just perfect.


詹姆斯：美妙的气氛使那场婚礼很特别。虽然婚礼花费不多，但是非常完美。


Wendi: That sounds beautiful. So what was it like to give away your sister, like do you feel that as being a big responsibility.


温迪：听起来真美好。把妹妹交给新郎的感觉怎么样，你认为那是不是一份很大的责任?


James: Yeah, I was really chuffed when she asked me. It really, really meant a lot so, cause she had a difficult decision to choose who to give her away, so yeah it was a really big, yeah, it was a real big honor to do. And, it's an easy thing to do. You walk down the aisle and you sit down and that's it.


詹姆斯：对，当她请我做这件事的时候我非常高兴。这意味着很多，因为在选择由谁把她交给新郎时，她很艰难才做出了决定，所以能由我来做这件事我觉得非常荣幸。这其实是一件很简单的事，只要沿着红地毯走向神坛，把新娘交给新郎后坐在自己的位子上就可以了。


Wendi: What's your best kind of memory from that whole wedding — that whole experience?


温迪：你对那场婚礼记忆最深的是什么?


James: Ah, seeing my sister in her wedding dress, that morning. She just looked so beautiful.


詹姆斯：那天早上看到我妹妹穿婚纱的样子。她真的太美了。


Wendi: Yeah.


温迪：好。


James: And also seeing how nervous my brother-in-law was before the wedding in the pub. He was so nervous and it was really sweet and also because it's a village and she's a hairdresser, all the old ladies had come and stood outside the church to have a look at her.


詹姆斯：还有婚礼之前在酒吧看到的我妹夫的紧张模样。他非常紧张，那个样子很可爱，因为他们住在乡村，我妹妹又是理发师，所以乡村里所有的老妇人都来到了婚礼现场，她们站在教堂外面看我的妹妹。


Wendi: Oh, that's so awesome.


温迪：哦，那太好玩了。


James: And to wish her luck on the way in.


詹姆斯：在她走进教堂时，她们送上了美好的祝福。


Wendi: That's really cool.


温迪：太酷了。


James: Cause it was only for family, really and they'd all come to see her in bride's gown.


詹姆斯：因为婚礼只邀请家人参加，所以那些老妇人都过来看她穿婚纱的样子。


Wendi: Oh that sounds really special.
