林聚聚，林-曼努尔·米兰达（Lin-Manuel Miranda），1980年1月16日出生于美国纽约，美国演员、作曲家、制作人，以创作兼主演百老汇音乐剧《身在高地》及《汉密尔顿》而闻名。
米兰达为2008年百老汇音乐剧《身在高地》创作了音乐和歌词。他的作品获得了东托尼奖最佳原创音乐、格莱美奖最佳音乐剧专辑，而戏剧本身则赢得了托尼奖最佳音乐剧；米兰达也以主角身份入围了最佳音乐剧男主角。自从为《汉密尔顿》编写剧本、音乐和歌词以来，他和该剧都获得了外界高度赞誉；从2015年在百老汇首演以来，《汉密尔顿》还引发了一股流行文化。2021年11月19日，其导演首部电影作品《倒数时刻》（Tick, Tick...Boom! ）上映网飞。《倒数时刻》改编自改编自音乐剧作家乔纳森·拉森同名音乐剧，是乔纳森的一部自传式作品。

I'm Lin Manuel Miranda. Today we're going to talk about the creative process in directing my first feature, Tick Tick Boom! This is first film.

Film is my first love. I have wanted to be a director since I was three years old. I spent my summers in Puerto Rico knocking around my grandfather's video store. He owned a VHS video store called Miranda video. I watched all kinds of age inappropriate entertainment as an unsupervised use and always love movies. Then I kind of fell in love with theater along the way. And I went to college intending to study both. I sort of majored in theater instead of film out of practicality. You have to pay for your own senior film. When you're a theater major, the school gives you the 200 bucks for the lights and the costumes. It's a very simple transaction. If you write it, you put it up on stage, you write it you put up on stage. It's harder with film.
电影是我的挚爱。我从三岁起就想成为一名导演。在波多黎各的夏天，我经常去我祖父的录像店逛逛，他拥有一家名为“米兰达录像”的VHS录像店。我在没有监督的情况下观看了各种所谓不符合年龄的娱乐节目，并且一直喜欢电影。后来慢慢的，我又爱上了戏剧。我上大学时本来打算学习电影和戏剧。但出于实际考虑，我主修了戏剧而不是电影。你要制作高级电影的话，就要自己花钱，而假如你是一个戏剧专业的学生，学校会给你提供200美元的灯光和服装费，这是一个非常简单的交易。写好了剧本，就能把它搬到舞台上，写一部，搬一部。电影就比较难了。
I think that for your first film, I think it's important to go personal because you're going to have to make more decisions than you're prepared to make at any given time. And so if it's coming from an authentic place, you'll know the answers. Even if you don't know why they're the answers. You'll know the answers because you know the world and you know the story you're trying to tell. You're gonna get questions about the color of the tablecloth and the light. And if you know all the answers, because it's from somewhere deep within you. I don't mean necessarily literally, you know, I never worked at a diner but I knew the answers because I'd watched that footage of Jonathan on his last day at the diner and I know what it's like to work to do what you have to do so you can do what you want to do. That part of it is authentic. And I've been that struggling songwriter. And so those answers will be clearer if you were very clear on what you need.
我认为第一部电影其实是非常个性化、私人化的东西，你需要自己决定的事情比以往任何时候都要多。因此，如果电影有一个确切的现实来源的话，你就会知道答案，即使你不知道背后的原因。你之所以知道答案是因为你了解这个世界、了解你要讲的故事。桌布应该是什么颜色？光线如何处理？如果你知道答案的话，它们一定是来自于你的内心深处。我不是说一定要从字面上看，你知道，我从来没有在餐馆工作过（注：电影主人公在餐馆工作），但我知道答案，因为我看了乔纳森（《倒数时刻》男主角）在餐馆工作的最后一天的录像，你知道你想要做什么了之后，就知道你为了实现它，需要做什么，这一部分是真实的。而且我也曾像电影中的乔纳森一样，是个生活潦倒的作曲家。因此，如果你非常清楚自己需要什么，这些答案会更清晰。
I saw the Off Broadway production of Tick, Tick boom! And I go see this musical by the guy who got me started writing musicals because Rent changed my life. And he was somehow even more concentrated and personal than Miranda was. Hey, Lin, here's a sneak preview of your 20s. That pretty girl sitting next to you with the amazing voice, she's gonna get a real job. You guys aren't going to be together anymore. All your friends, they're going to get real jobs. It's just gonna be you, banging your head against the wall and your childhood dream and the world is going to tell you know every day of your life.
