Pearl Art Museum, Shanghai, along with the Mucha Foundation, Prague, are delighted to collaborate to present a spectacular exhibition of Czech Art Nouveau Maestro Alphonse Mucha’s art from March 30th to July 21st, 2019.
This is the first ever presentation of the Mucha Family Collection in China, and the exhibition will feature over 200 original works of art by celebrated Czech artist Alphonse Mucha. In addition to his most prestigious Art Nouveau style posters, decorations, and jewelry the exhibition also includes his drawings, paintings, photography, book design and personal belongings some of which have never previously been shown publicly. The selections reveal Mucha’s multifaceted nature as an artist, and set out to explore his expansive inner landscape.
The exhibition, which coincides with the 80th Anniversary of Mucha’s passing, will serve as a key cultural exchange event for the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Czech Republic, illuminating the future with the pioneer of the Belle Époque.
