The Old Woman Who lived in a vinegar bottle
醋瓶里的老婆婆
Once upon a time a good fairy saw a vinegar bottle.
很久很久以前，有一位善良的小仙女，她看见了一个醋瓶。
It had a door, some windows and a chimney!
醋瓶上有一扇门、几扇窗户和一个烟囱。
The fairy stopped to look at it.
小仙女停下来观察着这个醋瓶。
Just then the door opened and an old woman came out.
就在这时，门开了，一位老婆婆走了出来。
The Old woman said to the fairy, ”This vinegar bottle is my home but I don’t like it at all. I wish I had a house.”
老婆婆对小仙女说：“这个醋瓶是我的家，可我一点儿也不喜欢它。我希望我可以拥有一间房子。”
“I can help you,” said the fairy. “You can have your wish. Walk down the road and you will see a little house.”
“我可以帮助你。“小仙女说，“你的愿望很快就可以实现了。沿着这条路一直走，你会看见一间小房子。”
So the old woman walked down the road.
于是，老婆婆沿着小路一直往前走。
There she saw the little house. She opened the door and went in.
她真的看到了一间小房子。老婆婆推开门，走了进去。
Then the fairy flew to the house.
随后，小仙女飞到了房子面前。
“Old woman,” she called, “I gave you your wish. Now what must you say to me?”
“老婆婆。“她大声说，“我实现了你的愿望。现在，你该对我说些什么呢？”
The old woman came out, but she did not look happy.
老婆婆走了出来，可她看上去并不高兴。
“This house is too little,” she said. “I want a big house.”
“这个房子太小了”她说，“我想要一所大房子。”
“So you want a big house, do you?” said the fairy. “You can have your wish. Walk on down the road and you will see a big house.”
“那么，你现在是想要一所大房子了，是吗？小仙女说，“你的愿望很快就会实现的。沿着这条路一直走，你会看到一所大房子。”
So the old woman walked on down the road. There she saw the big house.
于是，老婆婆沿着路一直往前走。她真的看到了一所大房子。
She opened the door and went in.
老婆婆推开门，走了进去。
Then the fairy flew to the house.
随后，小仙女飞到了房子面前。
“Old woman,” she called, “I gave you your wish. Now what must you say to me?”
“老婆婆。”她大声说，“我实现了你的愿望。现在，你该对我说些什么呢？”
The old woman came out, but she did not look happy.
老婆婆走了出来，可她看上去并不高兴。
“I don’t want a house now,” she said. “I want a castle.”
“我现在不想要房子了。”她说，“我想要一座城堡。”
“So you want a castle, do you?” said the fairy. “You can have your wish. Walk on down the road and you will see a castle.”
“那么，你现在是想要一座城堡了，是吗？”小仙女说，“你的愿望很快就会实现的。沿着这条路一直走，你会看到一座城堡。”
The old woman walked on down the road and saw the castle.
老婆婆沿着路一直往前走，然后，她看见了一座城堡。
“Now I am happy,” she said. “This is what I wanted.”
“现在，我很开心。”她说，“这是我想要的。”
“Good,” said the fairy. “Now what must you say to me?”
“很好。”小仙女说，“现在，你该对我说些什么呢？”
But the old woman would not say it.
但是，老婆婆却不愿意说那句话。
The fairy was very cross.
小仙女十分生气。
“I gave you a little house. Then I gave you a big house. Then I gave you a castle.” But you have not said THANK YOU!”
“我给你一间小房子，然后给你一所大房子，最后又给你一座城堡。可你连声谢谢也不说！”
So the fairy made the old woman go home to her vinegar bottle.
于是，小仙女施魔法让老婆婆回到她原来住的醋瓶里去了。
