f I try to write a novel, I want it to be a novel in the best sense and not a string of short stories.If I write a short story , I want to feel that it is truly a short story in spirit as well as in form_If I want to write a novel I must ask whether my ideas are big enough ,and whether they are short story ideas or fit for a novel . A good idea may beworked out and express itself in many forms.
