【日常英语口语表达】- used to & he used to

used to & be used to

Most students are still confused about the phrases above, so we are going to talk about them today. (be confused about, 对... 疑惑／不明白)

过去常常

We use used to to talk about something that happened regularly in the past (过去规律性的动作，行为) or a situation in the past (过去的状态), but is not now.

1. I used to be a soldier (过去是一名士兵), but I retired from the millitary 7 years ago. (Situation in the past)

2. Thomas used to be skinny(过去很瘦), but he is strong and heavy now. (Situation in the past)

3. My general manager used to go to the gym (过去经常去健身房). (Regular actions that happened in the past)

4. I used to hand my homework in late(过去作业总交晚). (Regular actions that happened in the past)

习惯于/适用于

We use be used to do sth / to doing sth to describe something that you are familiar with so that it no longer seems new or strange to you.

We are used to the noise from the traffic now (我们现在已经习惯了交通噪音).

Most office workers are used to getting up early (大部分上班族习惯了早起).
