第八十一章

信言不美，美言不信。善者不辩，辩者不善。知者不博，博者不知。圣人不积，既以为人己愈有，既以与人己愈多。天之道，利而不害；圣人之道，为而不争。

True  words are not fine - sounding ;  Fine-sounding words are not true .  A  good  man doesnot argue ; he who  argues  is  not  a good man .  The  wise  one  does  not  know  many  things ;  He  who  knows  many things  is not wise .  The  Sage  does  not accumulate (for himself) . He  lives  for  other  people ,  and  grows  richer himself; He  gives  to  other  people ,   and   has  greater  abundance .  The  Tao  of  Heaven  Blesses ,  but  does not  harm .  The  Way  of  the Sage  accomplishes ,  but  does  not  contend .
