Hello everyone, welcome to English Panorama. This is Jennifer, and this is Daisy.

First, let’s focus on the recent news.

France aims to bring more foreign students to its universities by offering more classes taught in English.French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe announced the plan recently. He said increasing the number of foreigners studying in the country would help build French influence overseas.

The country is a popular choice among non-English-speaking students. But it ranks behind the United States,Britain and Australia in the total number of foreign students who study there.Between 2011 and 2016,the number of foreign students studying at French universities fell by 8.5 percent.

Under the new plan,France will ease student visa requirements.France also plans to increase the costs for students who come from outside the European Economic Area. However, that is still much less costly than some other European countries,.And,France will use the extra money to build better education facilities and increase the number of scholarships for foreign students.

Okay, let’s go to the next part.Today we will talk about protecting ourselves from the harassment.

A new report has suggested that third of girls in the UK has been sexually harassed in public when wearing school uniform, and two-thirds of girls say they have experienced unwanted sexual attention in public. The figures comes from a report by children’s charity Plan International UK,which said many girls feel street harassment is “all part of growing up”.

Hollaback!-an international movement tackling harassment-says there is no right or wrong way to respond. But if you choose speak directly to the assailant,it offers the following advice:

1. Be firm:Look them in the eye and denounce their behavior with a strong clear voice.

2. Say what feels natural:The important thing is that you are not apologetic in your response.

3. Don’t engage:Harassers may try to argue with you or dismiss you through further conversation or by making fun of you.As tempting as it may be get into a verbal war with them,it is not recommended. The attention may further feed their abusive behaviour.

4. Keep moving:Once you’ve said your piece, keep moving.Harassers do not deserve the pleasure of your company.

Hollaback!

Okay,that’s all for today,see you next time.Bye~
