Extreme Sports: Surfing

We think of surfing as a modern sport, but it has been around for hundreds or possibly thousands of years. People from Polynesian islands such as Hawaii, Samoa, and Tahiti, were seen surfing by British explorers in the 1700s. Surfing means riding on top of waves as they come from the sea towards the land.
