Taylor Mali 泰勒.马里（生于1965年3月28日）是美国诗人、幽默大师、老师、配音艺术家。
听到有人说“那些什么都做不了的人，就去教书”"Those who can't do, teach"。在鲍瑞诗歌俱乐部Bowery Poetry Club，诗人泰勒马里代表各地的教育工作者，发表了一个强有力的3分钟的回应。
What Teachers Make
( Objection over rules/ if things don’t work out ,you could always got o law school) ( The dinner guests are sitting around the table discussing life. One man, a CEO, decides to explain the problem with education )
He says the problem with teachers is what’s a kid gonna learn from someone who decided that his option in life was to become a teacher. He reminds the dinner guests that it's true
what they say about teachers: "Those who can...do. Those who can't ... teach."
他说，教师的问题在于，“孩子能从一个把教师职业作为一生中最佳选择的人哪儿学到什么?”他提醒其他在坐的客人说，人们对教师这个职业说法一点不假：“那些真正有能力的人，去做事业；那些什么也做不成的人，只有教书啦。”
I decide to bite my tongue instead of his. And resist the urge to remind the other guests that it is also true what they say about lawyers. Because we’re eating after all, and this is supposed to be polite conversation.
我决定保持缄默，不去理会他。我抑制着自己，没有向客人提及人们是怎么戏虐律师的（律师利用别人的灾难发财）。因为我们都在吃饭，再者，这是一群有教养的人。
I mean, you’re a teacher, Taylor ( to corroborate, he said to another guest) " Come on, , be honest. What do you make?"

And I wish he hadn’t done that, asked me to be honest, cause you see, I have this little policy in my classroom about honesty, and ass-kicking which is, if you ask for it,then I ‘ll let you have it.

I make kids work harder than they ever thought they could.

How dare you waste my time with anything less than your very best .

Why won’t i let you go to the bathroom because you’re bored and you don’t really have to go to the bathroom, do you?

To the biggest bully in the grade, he said leave the kid alone. I still cry sometimes, don’t you? And that was the noblest act of courage that I have ever seen.
I make the parents see their children for who they are and who they can be.
