英语美文：生命中一定要牢记的18件事（上）

Number One - Remember to be yourself. We are all created to be unique in our own ways. And to be yourself is to know exactly who you are. This could include where you're from, what you strongly believe in, your standards and values, and anything else that is close to you or contributes to your personality. These things are what make you who you are as a person. And one of the main components of obtaining a happy life is to be at peace with all of the wonderful characteristics that make you you.
第一，记住，要做自己。我们生下来就是独特的，每个人都有自己的特点。做自己，就是要了解自己。这意味着你要了解自己的过去，了解自己的信念，了解自己的准则，了解自己的价值观，了解与自己或自己的个性有关的一切。这些事情造就了你。要想过得快乐，最重要事情之一，就是要接纳自己的所有美好的特点。

Number Two - Remember what you have to offer. Recognizing your amazing qualities is an important step in accepting who you are as an individual. Just think about what it means to give to others and to show them that you care. Sometimes we underestimate our abilities and tell ourselves that we aren't capable of offering anything. But it is important to remember that you have so much to offer - no matter how insignificant these things may seem. Once you find somebody who you trust and feel completely comfortable with, it will become easier to recognize all that you're capable of.
第二，记住，你有能力付出。认可自己那些优秀的品质，是接纳自己的重要一步。想一想，对他人付出，让他人知道你很关心他们，这有什么意义。有时候，我们低估了自己的能力，认为我们无法给他人任何东西。但是，你能给予他人的东西有很多，就算这些东西看起来很不起眼，也没关系。你要记住这一点，这点很重要。一旦你找到一个令你信任的人，让你感觉与其相处很融洽的人，那么你就更能体会到自己的能力。
