In other words, when we communicate from the outside in, yes, people canunderstand vast amounts of complicated information like features andbenefits and facts and figures. It just doesn't drive behavior. When we cancommunicate from the inside out, we're talking directly to the part of thebrain that controls behavior, and then we allow people to rationalize it withthe tangible things we say and do.The goal is not just to sell to people who need what you have; the goal is tosell to people who believe what you believe. I always say that, if you hirepeople just because they can do a job, they'll work for your money, but ifyou hire people who believe what you believe, they'll work for you withblood and sweat and tears.There are leaders and there are those who lead. Leaders hold a position ofpower or authority, but those who lead inspire us. Whether they'reindividuals or organizations, we follow those who lead, not because wehave to, but because we want to. We follow those who lead, not for them,but for ourselves. And it's those who start with "why" that have the abilityto inspire those around them or find others who inspire them.
