When the numbers get too big, it’s time to focus on the people. Every life matters. It’s only when we see the individual families and children without homes, jobs, schools, that we can really fathom how much is at stake.

当基数变得太大时，就该开始关注难民本身了。每个生命都很珍贵。只有当我们看到一个个家庭无家可归，大人没有工作，孩子无法上学，才能真正了解这种情况有多危险。

The sheer scale of the current crises around the world demand that we find a better way to help. It requires new ideas, and new approaches. Working side by side to deliver for refugees and bring communities together.

当前全球难民危机的规模之大，要求我们找到更好的解决办法。解决难民工作需要新思维和新方法。通过共同协作，为难民提供帮助，使社区团结起来。

And it requires tenacity. Faced with more complex refugee emergencies, countries with the least means still host the greatest numbers of uprooted families, and sometimes for decades...

A more holistic and comprehensive approach is being tested in which all parts of society have roles and responsibilities.

In Uganda - a country that has hosted millions of uprooted families, refugees are offered land to farm and the right to work. In Iran, refugees can access training programs - and can go to school.

在收容数百万流离失所家庭的乌干达，国家向难民提供了耕地和工作权利。在伊朗，难民可以参加培训项目，还可以上学接受教育。

In Central America, to address the growing displacement, countries are employing a region - wide approach to ensure that no nation is alone in finding solutions.

Elsewhere there are inspiring examples, big and small of how to make a difference: And against the odds there are thousands of refugees creating their own success stories.

People in towns and cities around the world have realised the potential that refugees can offer. Through innovation and creativity, grass roots efforts are supporting entire communities, not just the refugees who live there.

When our common humanity prevails - solutions are no longer elusive, we can find the means to create a more just and effective way to resolve refugee crises, and at the same time improve the societies which welcome them.

当人道主义占据上风时——解决问题不再变得困难，我们可以找到各种办法，创造一种更公正和有效的方式来解决难民危机，同时让整个社会欢迎他们的融入。

All of this demonstrating that when we stand with refugees, we also stand for respect and dignity for all people. We have an historic opportunity.
