大家在学英语时一定发现了，英语句子普遍比汉语要长，有时长的夸张。抛开夸张的不说，正常的英语句子为什么比汉语长呢？其中一个重要的原因就是英语里从句比较多，而且有时从句里还会再出现从句，这就更复杂了。这一讲，我们主要讲如何通过修饰名词成分，把句子变得更加成熟复杂。

词句修饰—从句形成

条件状语从句

真实条件状语从句

If / unless / once / supposing that / on condition that / so long as

If it rains tomorrow, I will not go there. 

If you talk about him, she will cry.

If people have no curiosity about what they do, they are doomed to be superficial.

If he is not in the office, he must be out for lunch.

Unless something happens, I’ll see you tomorrow. 

Once the grapes were pressed, the juice was put into barrels.

Supposing it is true, what will you do?

非真实条件句

If I am you, I will not do it.*

If I were you, I would not do it.

If I have one million dollars, I will build  a school. *

If I had one million dollars, I would build  a school.

非真实条件状语从句

If I were you, I would not do it.

If I had one million dollars, I would build  a school.

If he had come a few minutes earlier, he could have seen her.
