Mark isgoing to Chicagoin afew weeks to see the sights. Should he stay in a hotel ora motel? Hotels downtown are nice if he can affordthem. Maybe Mark can find a good deal online. Motels are cheaper. He could stay in a motel in the suburbs and take a bus or train into thecity.
Conversation A
Mark:You travela lot, don’t you, Megan?
Megan:Not asmuch as I’d like to! But yes, I travel some.
Mark:Do you like hotels or motels better?
Megan:I like hotels better, if I can afford them. But why do you ask?
Mark:I’m going to Chicago with some friends in a few weeks.
Megan:That sounds like fun.
Mark:I think so. So should we stay in a hotel or a motel?
Conversation B
Megan:What are you going to do there?
Mark:I’m going to have fun and see the sights.
Megan:Well, Chicago is an easy place to get around. The buses and trains are excellent.
Mark:So we could stay at a motel in the suburbs. Then we could take the bus ortrain into the city.
Megan:Yes, that would be cheaper.
Mark:But staying downtown in a hotel would be more convenient.
Megan:And a lot more expensive!
Conversation C
Mark:Hotels aren’t always expensive, are they?
Megan:The really nice hotels are. But sometimes you can find good deals online.
Mark:I’d like to stay downtown. Then we can walk everywhere.
Megan:But staying in a motel or small hotel in the suburbs will save youmoney. Some of them give you free breakfast, too. Downtown hotels might not.
Mark:That’s true. I’ll talk to my friends about it.
Megan:Good idea. You should all agree!
