03 冠词

一、冠词总述

冠词作为一种虚词，在英语中只能和名词一起使用。英语中的冠词分为定冠词（the）、不定冠词（a, an）和零冠词。不定冠词有两个：a 和 an；

a用于以辅音音素开头的单词前；an用于以元音音素开头的单词前。名词前面不用冠词的情况，称为零冠词。

二、冠词的分类

（一）定冠词

1用在可数名词前，指定特定的人或东西  Show the guests to his (their)room 带客人去看他（们）的房间

2  用在可数名词前，表示一类人或东西  the horse 马

3  用于第二次出现名词之前  I got a letter yesterday, the letter...

4  用于有词组或定语从句修饰的名词前  the cause of the fire  起火的原因

5  用于某些名词或者形容词前，表示一类人  the Chinese 中国人 the rich 富人，the poor

6  用于指说话双方都知道的人或事  Please close the door 请把门关上，在这里，说话双方都知道要关上的门具体是哪一扇门

7  用于世界上独一无二的事物前  the sun 太阳 the world 世界

8  用于序数词前表示顺序  the first 第一

9 用于形容词和副词的最高级前面  the most interesting  最有趣的

10 在play后和乐器连用  play the piano 弹钢琴

11   与姓氏的复数形式连用，表示一家人  the Blacks 布莱克一家人

12  用在某些专有名词前（如江、河、海、洋、海峡、海湾） the Changjiang river 长江 the Red Sea 红海

13  由普通名词构成专有名词  the Great Wall 长城

（二）不定冠词

不定冠词a \ am的用法

1  用于单数可数名词前,表示“一个”  a police man 一名警察

2  用于单数可数名词之前，表示“每个”  A soldier must obey orders 军人必须服从命令

3  用于序数词前，表示“又一”“再一”  I want a second cup of tea 我还想再喝一杯茶，注意，a second表示是再一，如果是the second那可能就是特指的某一杯，桌上的茶可能是以某一种顺序摆放的

4  表示“一类”  A teacher is a person who spreads knowledge老师是传播知识的人

5  用于第一次出现的单数名词之前  There is a box in the room. The box is heavy. 房间里有个箱子，这个箱子很重，第一次出现使用a，第二次就是用the来指代前文出现过的词啦

6  表明价格、速度、频率  six kilometers an hour 每小时60公里 3 times a day 每天三次

7  用于专有名词前  He wants to buy a Kodek 他想买家柯达相机

8  用于抽象名词前  It’s a pity that he missed the lecture 他错过这次演讲真遗憾

9  用于集体名词前  a team of three 一个三人组

10  用物质名词前（如rain show coffee tea)  A heavy snow feel last night 昨晚下了一场大雪

11  用于某些固定短语中  have a try试一下 take a break休息一下

（三）零冠词

零冠词的用法

1  表示独一无二的职务、头衔、身份前  Elizabeth II,Queen of England 英国女王伊丽莎白二世

2  复数可数名词表示泛指时  Books can broaden people’s horizons 书籍能开阔人的视野

3  表示星期、月份、季节和节日的名词前  Summer is around the comer 夏天即将到来

4  表示球类、棋类运动项目  play football 踢足球 play chess 下象棋

5  在一日三餐名词前  have breakfast 吃早饭

6  交通工具名词前 by car 坐车 by ship坐船

7  在一些地点的名词前，表特定概念 go home 回家 go to school 去上学 in hospital 住院go to work 上班

8  物质名词、抽象名词、专有名词前  Literature is universal 文学无国界

9  表示学科 语言的名词前  We all learn English at school 我们学校都学英语

10  不可数名词前  Health is very important 健康很重要

11  名词前已有指示代词、形容词性物主代词等限定词前  This is my pen 这是我的刚笔

12  多数国名、大洲名、城市名、城镇名、街道名和路名  China 中国 Downing Street 唐宁街
