The kindergarten had a painting contest thatday, and all kids brought their crayons.
“The conteststarts now. Let’s draw pictures!” Class monitorCalf announced.
Calf got backto his seat, brought out a box of crayons and said happily, “My mom bought methis yesterday. I like it so much. I will draw a beautiful picture today!”
After drawingwoods and mountain, Tiger was going to draw the Sun. Then he found he didn’thave a red crayon. He had looked through his schoolbag, but did not find it.
“Piggy, may Iborrow your red crayon please?”
“I am sorry, Tiger.I have only one red crayon.”
“Bear, couldyou lend me your red crayon for a while please?”
“Oh, I amusing it. You may use it when I finish.” Bear was focusingon his picture without lifting his head whilesaying.
All kids werebusy drawing. Tiger had asked many kids but no one lent him a red crayon. Hewas anxious to cry.
“Tiger, don’tcry! I can lend you my crayon!” Calf heard and came up.
“But you haveonly one. What do you use if you lend me yours?” Tiger said with worry.
“It’s OK now!”Calf broke his favorite crayon into two pieces.
Calf gave onehalf of the crayon to Tiger, “Well, this is for you!”
“Thank you,Calf!” on receipt of the half red crayon, Tigerwas surprised and touched.
Although itwas hard to use, both of them finished their pictures with one half of thecrayon.
After thecontest, the teacher praised Calf and Tiger for their paintings and awarded each of them some red flowers.
After gettinghome in the evening, Calf told mom what happened and apologized,“Mom, I’m sorry. I had broken the red crayon.”
“You did a verygood job, Calf!” Calf’s mom gave him a thumbs updelightedly, “Mom will award you a new box ofcrayons!”
