The Not-So Scary Snorklum
 不太可怕的斯诺克鲁兽
The setting sun glowed orange as the scary
Snorklum stomped home to his cave
夕阳西下，太阳变成了橘黄色的时候一只可怕的斯诺克鲁兽大步走在回家的路上
''I' m late !'' he though , and his whiskers began to wibble in a woried sort of way. 
“我太晚了”他想着，同时他的胡须开始用一种担忧的方式颤抖着。
Then he met Mole . His head told him he was late , but his tummy told him he was hungry. 
然后他碰到了鼹鼠。他的大脑告诉他，他已经很迟了，但是他的肚子告诉他，他非常的饿。
''I AM THE SCARY
SNORKLUM!'' he growled, ''and I am going to have a Mole sandwich!''
“我就是可怕的斯诺克鲁兽”他低声咆哮着，“我现在要一个鼹鼠三明治。”
''If you are the scary Snorklum .  " said
Mole , " why are your whiskers wibbling
in a worried sort of way?''
“如果你是可怕的斯诺克鲁兽，”鼹鼠说道，“为什么你的胡须在用一种很担忧的方式颤抖？”
" Whiskers wibbling? " snorted the Snorklum . " Nothing worries a Snorklum!''
“我的胡须颤抖？”斯诺克鲁收轻蔑的说道，"没有任何事能让斯诺克鲁兽担忧"
He put Mole in his pocket to eat later and hurried on his way. 
他将鼹鼠放进她的口袋，准备回头去吃，然后继续赶路。
The sinking sun glowed red.

''I must be home by dark. '' muttered the Snorklum , and his tail began to twitch in a timid sort of way. 
"在天黑前必须要回到家，"斯诺克鲁兽自言自语道，然后它的尾巴开始用一种胆怯的方式抽搐。
Then he met Rabbit . His head told him he was very late , but his tummy told him that a Rabbit pie would be even better than a Mole sandwich. 
然后他碰到了兔子，他的大脑告诉他，他非常晚了，但是他的肚子告诉他一个兔子馅儿饼肯定比一个鼹鼠三明治更棒。
''I AM THE SCARY SNORKLUM!''
he snarled , and ''I am going to make a Rabbit pie!''
“可怕的斯诺克鲁兽！”他愤怒咆哮着，“我要做一个兔子馅饼！”
''If you are the scary Snorklum , " said
Rabbit , " why is your tail twitching in a timid sort of way? ''
“如果你真是一只可怕的斯诺克鲁兽，”兔子说到，“为什么你的尾巴用一种胆怯的方式在抽搐？”
" Tail twitching ? " snorted the Snorklum . ''Timid? Oh no . Snorklums aren't timid . They're scary, really scary!''
“尾巴在抽搐？”斯诺克撸受轻蔑的说道，“胆怯？哦，不，斯诺克撸兽们都不会胆怯，他们都很可怕，特别可怕！”
He put Rabbit in his bag to eat later and hurried on. 
她把兔子放进她的背包，准备回头再吃，然后继续赶路。
The sun dipped and disappeared
太阳终于落山了，
'' I must be home by night-time. ''
gasped the Snorklum . And his knees began to knock in a nervous sort of way. 
“我必须在傍晚来到之前赶到家，”他悄声给自己说，然后他的膝盖开始用一种紧张的方式相互撞击。
Then he met Badger
这时他碰到了獾
His head told him that he was Very , very
late , but his tummy told him that Badger stew
would be even tastier than Rabbit pie. 
他的头脑告诉他，现在他已经非常非常晚了，但是他的肚子告诉他一锅炖獾肉，肯定比兔子馅饼更好吃。
''I AM THE SCARY SNORKLUM！''
he roared , ''and I am gong to make some
Badger stew!''
“我是可怕的斯诺克鲁兽！”他吼叫到，“我要把你做成一锅炖獾肉！”
''you really are the scary Snorklum, ''said Badger.  ''why are your knees knocking? ''
“真是一只可怕的斯诺克撸兽吗？”獾说道，“那你的膝盖为什么在相互撞击？”
''And your tail twitching ? " said Rabbit
“你的尾巴在抽搐，”兔子说
''And your whiskers wobbling " added Mole
“还有你的胡须也在颤抖”鼹鼠补充道。
''Are you a scary Snorklum or a  scared Snorklum? ''
“你是一只可怕的斯诺克鲁兽，还是一只被吓到了的斯诺克鲁兽？”
''Or maybe , ''said Badger ,'' you are not a
Snorklum at all!''
“哦，或许，”獾说道“根本就不是一只斯诺克鲁兽。”
"Of course I am a Snorklum !'' bellowed the
Snorklum , quite forgetting that he was in a hurry. 
“当然是一只斯诺克鲁兽”斯诺克鲁兽嘶喊着，完全忘了他，现在急赶着回家。
''I can prove it . And when I'm done,
I WILL EAT ALL
OF YOU FOR SUPPER !''
“我会向你们证明的，当我证明完，我要把你们所有人都当做晚餐吃掉！”
"I have heard ," said Badger ,'' that a scary
Snorklum can scare the leaves off
trees with a single stare. ''
“我可听说了，”獾说，“一只可怕的斯诺克鲁兽能用眼睛一瞪就把树叶都给瞪下来。”
''I can do that!'' said the Snorklum . He screwed up his face and he stared.
“我能做到这个！”斯诺克撸兽说，然后他板起脸开始瞪眼。
  The trees shook and shivered , and their leaves fluttered to the ground. 
周围的树都颤抖起来，然后它们的叶子全都落到了地上。
" Not bad . " said Rabbit , " but a gust of wind
could do that . I have heard that a scary
Snorklum can scare birds out of the sky
with a single word. ''
“还不赖，”兔子说，“但是一阵风也能做到这个，我听说啦，一只可怕的斯诺克鲁兽能只说一句话，就把小鸟们都从天空上吓得掉下来。”
''Easy ! ' said the Snorklum , he took a long , deep breath and ROARED. 
“简单！”诺克撸兽说着他深呼吸了一口气，然后大吼了一声。
All the birds flew down from the sky and hid in the trees and bushes , trembling. 
所有的鸟儿都从天上飞落下来，然后颤抖着藏在树和灌木丛中。
"But birds settle in trees at night anyway. ''
said Mole . " And you can't be a scary Snorklum , because I have heard that if a scary Snorklum stays out after dark he goes… ''
“但是鸟儿到晚上都会到树林里休息的，”鼹鼠说，“你不可能是一只斯诺克鲁兽，因为我听说如果一只斯诺克撸受到晚上还呆在外面的话，他就会…”
POOOFFT !砰！
" AAAAAARGR啊啊啊！

As darkness finally fell , the scary Snorklum shrank with a POOFFT! and a flash and a cry into a tiny , timid Snorklum
黑夜终于降临之时，那只可怕的斯诺克鲁兽在砰的一声，一道光闪过，然后又有一声尖叫之后缩成了一只小小的胆怯的小斯诺克撸兽。
" You tricked me ! ''he squeaked
“你们骗了我”他尖叫着
''But when I've grown big and scary again , I'll be back ! And next time I'll have you all
for breakfast !''
“你们等我再长成又大又可怕的时候，我要回来！下一次，我要把你们所有人都当成早餐吃掉。”
