“Should I sign up for easy courses for fewer assignments and higher grades, or fight back tears and stick to challenging ones characterized by new knowledge and innovation?” This is a dilemma faced not only by the student in the cartoon but by millions of Chinese college students as well.
Today the concept of quality-oriented education has been widely adopted by Chinese colleges. As a result, college students now enjoy much more freedom in their course selection. Most students believe it is a good chance to choose the courses they are interested in. But in my opinion, they should also take into consideration their academic capacity and goals of career development.
On one hand, students should choose courses that match their capacity.While overchallenging courses may cause frustration and failure, too easy ones can also result in boredom that hinders progress. On the other hand, they should also consider their career path. lf a student wishes to become a specialist, such as an astrophysicist, he will need to take advanced courses that provide innovative,cutting-edge knowledge. On the contrary, if the student is determined to be a generalist, an HR manager, for example, he should instead acquire a wide range of general knowledge through courses on different subjects.
In sum, to maximize the results, college students should choose moderately challenging courses that can better prepare them for their future career.

一方面，大学生应该选择与他们能力相匹配的课程。具有过多挑战性的课程有可能会带来挫败、导致失败。而太简单的课程也可能让人厌倦，从而阻碍进步。另一方面，他们也应该考虑一下自己的职业之路。一位大学生若想成为专家，比如天体物理学家，他需要学习能提供创新和前沿知识的高级课程。相反，如果他决心成为一名通才，比如人力资源经理，他需要通过学习不同学科的课程来获取多个领域的通识。
总之，为了达到最好的效果，大学生应该选择挑战性适中且能为他们的未来做更好准备的课程。
