Once upon a time in a land far far away, there lived a wealthy merchant and his three beautiful daughters. The third one though was far prettier and wiser than the others, so everyone called her 'Beauty'. 

很久很久以前，在一个非常遥远的地方，住着一位富有的商人和他的三个美丽的女儿。第三个姑娘比其他的姑娘要漂亮、聪明得多，大家都称她为“美女”。

On the other hand, her sisters were jealous and mean. They were more interested in spending their father's money. Beauty used to dream about a handsome prince. She always thought that one day she will marry the prince and stay in a beautiful palace with him. Everything was happy in Beauty's life like her dreams. 

另一方面，她的姐妹们又嫉妒又小气。他们对花父亲的钱更感兴趣。美女常常梦见一位英俊的王子。她一直认为有一天她会嫁给王子，和他一起住在一个美丽的宫殿里。一切都是那么幸福，就如她做的梦一般。

And one day, her fate changed. Due to a terrible storm, her father lost all his ships and so all his money. It's all over, dear. We are no longer wealthy. Don't worry, father. All will be fine soon. We will find a way out of it. You are my only wealth. I am happy with you. 

但是有一天，她的命运改变了。由于一场可怕的风暴，她的父亲失去了所有的船只，也因此失去了所有的钱。都结束了，亲爱的。我们不再富有。不要担心，爸爸。很快就会好起来的。我们会找到办法的。你是我唯一的财富。我和你在一起很开心。

Soon all the servants left the house because of merchant's poverty. Beauty was running the house. While the two sisters kept complaining about how they were living in poverty. Beauty  always prayed to god to bring back the happiness on his father's face. 

很快，因为商人没钱了，所有的仆人都离开了。美女掌管着房子。而她的姐妹则不停地抱怨着贫困的生活。美女总是向上帝祈祷，希望能让她父亲的脸上重现幸福。

And one day the merchant received the news that one of his ships was sailing into the harbor. I have good news. One of my ships has sailed into the harbor. We shall be no more poor. Right now I have to leave for the harbor. Tell me what shall I get for each of you? 

一天，商人得到消息说，他的一艘船正在驶入港口。我有个好消息。我的一艘船已驶进港口。我们将不再贫穷。现在我得去港口了。告诉我给你们每个人都要什么?

I want new dresses. I want jewelry. And what shall I get for you my lovely child? All I want is your safe return home, father. So sweet of you, but you must ask for whatever you want to my child. The Scarlet Rose, please give me just one. Of course my sweet child. 

我想要新裙子。我想要珠宝。你想要什么，孩子？所有我想要的就是你平安归来，父亲。你太贴心了，但是你必须告诉我你想要什么。鲜红色的玫瑰，就给我一朵吧。当然，我亲爱的孩子。

On this happy note, the merchant left for the harbor. As he reached the harbor he saw the ship was completely isolated and found out that all the crew ran off with the remaining cargo of the ship. Broken hearted the merchant started his journey towards home. Lost in thought, the merchant wandered off the road and lost into a dense forest. 

带着这些愉快的信息，商人向港口出发了。当他到达港口时，他发现船已经完全分裂了，所有的船员都带着船上剩下的货物逃走了。伤心的商人踏上了回家的路。这时候商人陷入了沉思，走离了道路，迷失在茂密的森林中。

The snow was falling like all the ocean water had turned to snow. The horse was not able to walk in the dense snow. So he let him rest under a tree. In the distance he saw some bright lights and went towards it. It was a huge beautiful palace. As he reached it, the gate made of shining gold swung opened. It seemed very strange that no snow had fallen in the avenue of orange trees.

雪下得就想把所有的海水都变成了雪。马在大雪中走不动了。所以他让它在树下休息。他看到远处有一些明亮的灯光，就朝它走去。那是一座巨大而美丽的宫殿。当他走到门前时，金灿灿的大门打开了。橘子林荫道上没有下雪，这看起很奇怪。
