Good morning

Today is Motivational Monday. It is time to get some inspiration for the week.

What do you think about having manners? Manners simply means that you know how to act/behave in a civilized way. We hear stories every day of people behaving badly on airplanes and while traveling abroad. But, what about your manners? Are manners important? Do we need to use them?

Well, in Western countries, manners are very important. Saying things like ‘thank you’, ‘please’ and ‘you’re welcome.’ I know that when I see someone trying to get to the elevator before the door closes, I will hold the elevator until they get there. They always say ‘thank you.’ Or, when I’m getting off of the elevator or about to walk through a doorway and there is a lady or elderly person close by who is also about to walk through it. I will stop and let them go first. Whoever they are, whether older or younger, they will almost always say ‘thank you.’ 

Civilized people know to use manners. It is a way to honor and respect other people. It is a way to show humility which makes the world a better place. It shows kindness, respect, honor and intelligence.

Practice

Today, I will practice my manners.

I will respect others and honor them.

I show respect to everyone.

I am a caring, giving and loving person.

I am an intelligent person and I know how to act civilly. 

As I show manners, my self confidence grows and I feel great.

Remember, practice manners. Be kind to others. Show respect and honor others. Your self confidence and self esteem will be stronger. You will feel a greater personal power over your own life when you do.
