A kind father and a new sister03
That morning, he was walking down the streets of Liverpool when he saw a kid standing in the cold wind, crying. What a poor child!
Mr. Earnshaw thought she must be hungry, and quickly ran to a nearby food store to get a hamburger and a bottle of juice. At the sight of the food Mr. Earnshaw bought for her, she ceased crying and wolfed the hamburger down. Apparently, she was a child abandoned by her parents. It was sympathy that drove Mr. Earnshaw to take her home.
Finally, Mrs Earnshaw stopped complaining. She asked me to bathe the kid and get her off to sleep. Hindley and Cathy stood still beside me until the little girl fell asleep. Then they both began searching their father’s travel bag for the presents he had promised them, but they found nothing.
When learning that their father was so busy attending to their new “sister” that he forgot to buy gifts for them, they forgave him and were proud that they had such a kind father.
