4. 生活中的口语发音

Because——‘cause日常生活中，人们常常将 “because” 说成 “cause”，如：

* I didn’t go to school, because I wassick. —— I didn’t go to school, ‘cause I was sick.

我没有去学校，因为我生病了。

听下面的对话，体会 ”‘cause” 在口语中的实际应用：

Linda：Can you give me a ride to school?

John:  I can’t because (‘cause) I have to finish areport I leave.

Linda：Well, how long is it going to take you?

John:  Oh, about thirty or forty minutes.

Linda:  Oh, my gosh! Can you do it later? Because(‘cause) I don’t want to be late for my  makeup test.

John:  Makeup test? What are you talking about?

Linda：I forgot to tell you. I missed a test because(‘cause) I wassick.

John:  You missed the test when you had the flu?

Linda：Yeah.

琳达：你能搭我的车去上学吗？

约翰：我不能，因为在走之前我要写完这个报告。

琳达：好吧，那你多久能完成？
