Alison Farrell is a children's picture book author and illustrator based in Portland, Oregon. Before she became a picture book maker, Alison worked on farms and taught art in K-12 schools. Her works include The Hike, Cycle City and Bicycle Bash. Based on the titles of the books, you probably won't be surprised to learn that Alison loves hiking and biking. In this episode, Alison talked about her inspirations behind creating The Hike, including how her own hiking experiences informed the story.
