The Cyclone

D orothy lived on a farm with her Aunt Em, and Uncle Henry. Their home was very far from other people

But today they could not play, for Uncle Henry thought that bad weather was coming. He stood in the door, looking at the sky, which had tumed very black, Dorothy watched from inside the house, and could see the grass starting to lie down from the wind

Sudden/y, Uncle Henry turned around and said, " Quick

Em! You and Dorothy go down under the house! A cyclone is coming. I'll be down soon! I have to see about the animals

Dorothy got up to go with her aunt under the house, but

Toto ran under one of the beds

Come on, Dorothy! "said Aunt Em. " can see the cyclone getting closer! "And she opened a door in the floor of her room and ran down under the house

Dorothy could not go without Toto, so she went to the bed and pulled him out from under it. As she was running to the door in her aunt's room, the cyclone fel upon their home with a great noise, and lifted the house up in the air.

The noise and the movement of the house were, at first, very scary to Dorothy. Round and round inside the cyclone it spun, very far from the ground. She thought all was lost. But the house did not fall. The cyclone took it far away; and the longer she was in the air, the less scary it was for Dorothy. She even became tired, and lay down in her bed.

龙卷风来了

但是今天罗茜多多不能像往常一玩要，因为亨利叔叔说糟糕的天气就要来临了。亨利叔叔站在门口，望着已经变得很黑的天空。德罗茜站在屋子里向外望去，看见地上的草开始被吹得趴了下去。

突然，亨利叔叔转过头来说:“快，爱姆，你和德罗茜到地下室去!龙卷就要来了。我也很快就会下来，我必须得先去看一下家畜的情况。”德罗茜站起来机爱姆婶婶一起往地下室走，但就在这时，多多钻到了一张床底下。
“快过来，德罗茜，”爱姆婶婶大喊道“我看到龙卷风越来越近了。”紧接着她打开她房间地版上的一扇门，跑到地下室去了。德罗茜不愿意扔下多多，所以她走到床边把多多从床底下拽了出来。当她正朝着婶婶房间的那门跑去时，卷风呼啸向了他们的屋，把整个屋子卷到了空中。

刚开始，卷风的呼啸声和房子的移动让罗茜非常惊恐。房子在龙卷风的中心不停地旋转上升，离地面越来越远。她心想这下完蛋了。但是房子没有从空中掉下来。而是被卷向了很的地方。随着房子在空中的时间久了，徳罗茜渐渐不那么害怕了。后来她觉得有点倦，就躺在床上休息了。
