Gorilla 大猩猩

Hannah loved gorillas.
安娜喜欢大猩猩，
She read books about gorillas.
她看有大猩猩的书，
She watched gorillas ontelevision,
看有大猩猩的电视，
And she drew pictures ofgorillas.
还画了许多大猩猩。
But she had never seen a realgorilla.
但是，她从来没见过一只真正的大猩猩。
Her father didn’t have time totake her to see one at the zoo.
她爸爸没时间带她去动物园看大猩猩。
He didn’t have time foranything.
请他做什么，他都没时间。
He went to work everydaybefore Hannah went to school.
每天，安娜上学以前，爸爸就出门去工作。
And in the evening he workedat home.
晚上，他还把事情带回家来做。
When Hannah asked him aquestion,
要是安娜有话问他，
He would say,
他就说：
“Not now. I’m busy. Maybetomorrow.”
“现在不行，我很忙，明天吧。”
But the next day he was alwaystoo busy.
到了第二天，他还是那么忙。
“Not now. Maybe at theweekend,” he would say.
他会说：“现在不行，周末再说吧。”
But at the weekend he wasalways too tired.
到了周末，他又常常喊累。
They never did anythingtogether.
爸爸从来不陪她做什么。
The night before her birthday,
生日的前一天晚上，
Hannah went to bed with excitement.
安娜上床的时候很高兴，
She had asked her father for agorilla!
因为她跟爸爸要了一只大猩猩！
In the middle of the night,
半夜，
Hannah woke up and saw a verysmall parcel at the foot of the bed.
安娜醒来看见脚边放了一个小小的包裹，
It was a gorilla,
里面有一只大猩猩，
But it was just a toy.
不过只是个玩具。
Hannah threw the gorilla intoa corner with her other toys and went back to sleep.
安娜把大猩猩扔到墙角的玩具堆里，又回去睡了。
In the night something amazinghappened.
深夜里，发生了一件奇妙的事情。
Hannah was frightened.
安娜有些害怕。
“Don’t be frightened, Hannah.”Said the Gorilla.
那只大猩猩说话了：“安娜，不要怕，
“I won’t hurt you. I justwondered if you’d like to go to the zoo.”
我不会伤害你。我只是想问你想不想去动物园。”
The gorilla had such a nicesmile that Hannah wasn’t afraid.
大猩猩笑得很好看，安娜不害怕了。
“I’d love to,” she said.
她说：“我很想去。”
They both crept downstairs,
他们轻轻地走到了楼下，
And Hannah put on her coat.
安娜穿上了大衣。
The gorilla put on herfather’s hat and coat.
大猩猩穿上了爸爸的大衣，戴上了爸爸的帽子。
“A perfect fit,” he whispered.
他轻声说：“大小正合适呢。”
They opened the front door,and went outside.
他们打开前门，走到屋外。
“Come on then, Hannah,” saidthe gorilla.
大猩猩说：“安娜，我们走啦。”
And he gently lifted her up.
他轻轻地把安娜抱起来。
Then they were off,
他们出发了，
Swinging through the treestowards the zoo.
从这棵树荡到那棵树，直奔动物园。
When they arrived at the zooit was closed,
到了动物园，大门已经关了。
And there was a high wall allaround.
四周又都是高墙。
“Never mind” said the gorilla,“up and over”
大猩猩说：“不要紧，翻墙进去！”
They went straight to theprimates.
他们一直走到了灵长类那一区。
Hannah was thrilled.
安娜简直看呆了，
So many gorillas!
好多好多的大猩猩！
The gorilla took Hannah to seethe orang-utan, and a chimpanzee.
大猩猩带安娜去看大猿猴、黑猩猩。
She thought they werebeautiful.
安娜觉得它们都很漂亮，
But sad.
可是好像有些忧伤。
“What would you like to donow?” the gorilla asked.
大猩猩说：“现在你想做什么？”
“I’d love to go to thecinema,” said Hannah.
安娜说：“我想看电影。”
So they did.
说完他们就去电影院了。
Afterwards they walked downthe street together.
看完了，他们就一起逛街。
“That was wonderful.” saidHannah.“But I’m hungry now.”
安娜说：“电影很好看，可是我肚子饿了。”
“Okay,” said the gorilla,“we’ll eat.”
大猩猩说：“没问题，我们去吃东西。”
“Time for home?” asked thegorilla.
吃完东西，大猩猩说：“该回家了吧？”
Hannah nodded, a bit sleepily.
安娜点点头，她有点儿困了。
They danced on the grass.
他们在草地上跳起舞来，
Hannah had never been sohappy.
安娜从来没有这么高兴过。
“You’d better go in now,Hannah,” said the gorilla. “See you tomorrow.”
到家门口了，大猩猩说：“安娜，你该进屋了，明天见！”
“Really?” asked Hannah.
“真的吗？”安娜说。
The gorilla nodded and smiled.
大猩猩点点头，笑了笑。
The next morning Hannah wokeup and saw the toy gorilla.
第二天早上，安娜醒了，看到了那只玩具大猩猩。
She smiled.
安娜笑了。
Hannah rushed downstairs totell her father what had happened.
安娜冲到楼下，想把所有的事情告诉爸爸。
“Happy birthday, love,” hesaid. “Do you want to go to the zoo?”
爸爸说：“乖女儿，生日快乐！你想不想去动物园玩玩？”
Hannah looked at him,
安娜看着爸爸，
She was very happy.
她幸福极了！
