Central bank announces ratio cuts
央行下调存款准备金率

China's central bank said Monday it has decided to cut the reserve requirement ratio (RRR) for financial institutions, to support the development of the real economy and reduce comprehensive financing costs. The ratio will be cut by 0.5 percentage points, effective on Dec 15, except for those financial institutions that already implement a 5-percent ratio, said the People's Bank of China (PBOC) in a statement. 
为加大对实体经济的支持力度，并降低社会综合融资成本，中国人民银行12月6日宣布，决定于2021年12月15日下调金融机构存款准备金率0.5个百分点（不含已执行5%存款准备金率的金融机构）。

After the reduction, the weighted average ratio for Chinese financial institutions will stand at 8.4 percent, the central bank said. About 1.2 trillion yuan in long-term funds will be released through the cut.
本次下调后，金融机构加权平均存款准备金率为8.4%。此次降准共计释放长期资金约1.2万亿元。

Olympics no place for political show

外交部回应美方'外交抵制'冬奥

A Foreign Ministry spokesperson on Monday urged the United States to stop hyping up the so-called "diplomatic boycott" of the Beijing Winter Olympics, saying that China will take countermeasures if the US insists on doing so. Spokesperson Zhao Lijian made the remarks at a daily press briefing when asked about the Biden administration's plan of announcing a "diplomatic boycott" this week. 
12月6日举行的外交部例行记者会上，有记者提问，美国拜登政府或将于本周内宣布对北京冬奥会"外交抵制"，中方对此有何回应？外交部发言人赵立坚表示，美方应停止炒作所谓的"外交抵制"北京冬奥会，如果美方一意孤行，中方必将采取坚决反制措施。

The Winter Olympics is not a stage for political posturing and manipulation, Zhao said, adding that American politicians' constant hyping of "diplomatic boycott", despite not being invited to attend the Beijing Winter Olympics, violates the Olympic Charter, offends the Chinese people, and is pure political provocation. "The United States should take China's concerns seriously, refrain from politicizing sports, and stop hyping up the so-called 'diplomatic boycott' of the Beijing Winter Olympics, in order to avoid affecting dialogue and cooperation between the two countries in important areas," he said. 
赵立坚强调，冬奥会不是政治作秀和搞政治操弄的舞台，美国政客在没有受到邀请的情况下，不断炒作"外交抵制"北京冬奥会，是对《奥林匹克宪章》精神的严重玷污，是赤裸裸的政治挑衅，更是对14亿中国人民的严重冒犯。赵立坚说，美方应该严肃对待中方关切，不将体育运动政治化，停止炒作所谓的"外交抵制"北京冬奥会，以免影响中美在重要领域的对话合作。

17 AI pilot zones built in China
新一代AI创新发展试验区达17个

China has built 17 national artificial intelligence (AI) innovative development pilot zones, a Chinese official said. Li Meng, vice minister of science and technology, made the remarks at the International AI Cooperation and Governance Forum 2021 hosted by Tsinghua University on Dec 4 and 5. In 2019, China started building a new generation of national AI innovative development pilot zones, relying on local governments to carry out technology demonstrations, policy tests, and social experiments. 
科技部副部长李萌在12月4日至5日清华大学主办的2021人工智能合作与治理国际论坛上说，我国目前已经有17个国家新一代人工智能创新发展试验区。国家新一代人工智能创新发展试验区自2019年开始建设，依托地方开展人工智能技术示范、政策试验和社会实验。

According to a document released by the Ministry of Science and Technology, China plans to build around 20 AI pilot zones by 2023. In the pilot zones, the country plans to innovate a number of practical and effective policy tools, explore models integrating AI and economic development, gain experience that can be repeated and promoted, and build high platforms for leading AI, according to the document.
根据科技部印发的文件，到2023年，我国将布局建设20个左右国家新一代人工智能创新发展试验区，创新一批切实有效的政策工具，形成一批人工智能与经济社会发展深度融合的典型模式，积累一批可复制可推广的经验做法，打造一批具有重大引领带动作用的人工智能创新高地。

Dentist presents fake arm for vaccine
意牙医戴假肢接种疫苗

A dentist in Italy faces possible criminal charges after trying to receive a coronavirus vaccine in a fake arm made of silicone. A nurse in the northern city of Biella, Filippa Bua, said she could tell right away that something was off when a man presented the phony limb for a shot on Thursday. She said she initially thought the 57-year-old man was an amputee and had mistakenly offered the wrong arm. She lifted his shirt and saw a silicone arm. 
意大利一名牙医可能面临刑事指控，因为他试图用硅胶假手臂接种新冠疫苗。该国北部城市比耶拉的护士菲利帕•布阿说，当一名男子12月2日试图用假肢来接种时，她马上就感觉到了不对劲。布阿表示，她一开始以为这名57岁的男子是截肢者，误将手臂伸错了。后来，她掀起该男子的衬衫后，看到了一只硅胶手臂。

The nurse said the man acknowledged he did not want a vaccine but was looking to obtain a "super" health pass, which from Monday will be required to enter restaurants, cinemas, theaters and other venues in Italy. He had already been suspended from work because of his refusal to get vaccinated, which Italy requires for medical personnel.
这名护士称，该男子承认他不想接种疫苗，只是想获得一张"超级"健康通行证。从12月6日开始，要想进入意大利的餐馆、电影院、剧院和其他场所时，必须要出示该通行证。由于拒绝接种疫苗，他已经被停职。意大利要求医务人员必须接种疫苗。
