Trees, God's gift to humanity. Trees provide food water, shelter, medical cures. They create the oxygen we breathe; they absorb the carbon dioxide that threatens our climate. But trees and entire forests are at grave risk.

树木乃上帝馈赠人类的礼物。树木提供食物、水、住所、医疗物资。它们制造我们呼吸的氧气，吸收破坏气候的二氧化碳。但是，树木和整个森林正面临着严重的威胁。

Powerful economic and political interests are driving their destruction. Forests are cleared in massive numbers to create inexpensive land use for beef, palm oil, soy and paper production. Businesses are choosing profits over protecting nature and it's slowly killing us.

Our planet has already lost a staggering three trillion trees. And that means that half of all our forests are gone. If we keep up this rate of destruction little will be left by the end of the century and we will tragically lose nature's most effective climate change solution.

But there is hope. There's a very simple, practical solution that everyone can take part in. A solution that is as old as time. We can all do our part by planting a tree, or two, or supporting people who do.

If we protect forests and plant trees, we will truly help solve the climate crisis. It's that simple. So here's the challenge: can we work together to plant a trillion trees by the end of this decade?
