Drugabuse has become more and more rampant in our society. It can causeserious problems for individuals and society as a whole. On the onehand, the problems for individual users are numerous aftereffects andthe likelihood of developing a habit. What’s worse, being addictedto harmful drugs like cocaine or heroine will create a viciouscircle. That is, addiction will increase dependence, which in turnwill worsen addiction. Sadly, many people start taking drugs in theirteens. It is often a case of no turning back.
On the other hand, drug abuse can create a lot of social problems.For instance, some addicts may commit crimes when they are high ondrugs. They may vandalize buildings or loot stores. They may causetraffic accidents. Besides, intravenous drug users may run the riskof getting or spreading AIDS because they often share needles. Drugabuse can cause so many problems that the police should take drasticmeasures to crack down on it.
