1.CARGO MODULE DOCKS WITH TIANGONG SPACE STATION
天舟四号货运飞船成功对接空间站天和核心舱
The Tianzhou-4 cargo module, carrying supplies for the upcoming Shenzhou-14 crewed mission, successfully docked with Tianhe, the core module of the Tiangong space station on Tuesday morning.
周二凌晨，装载了神舟十四号所需物资的天舟四号货运飞船，成功与空间站的天和核心舱完成对接。

The Tianzhou-4 launched at 1:56 this morning from the Wenchang Launch Site in Hainan province. At 8:54 am, it completed a computer-controlled rendezvous and docked【对接】 with Tianhe's rear docking port. Like previous cargo module flights, Tianzhou-4 carried supplies for Shenzhou-14 mission's astronauts, components for space station maintenance, and equipment that will be used for research projects. The Shenzhou-14 spacecraft is scheduled to bring three astronauts to China's space station【空间站】 in June for a six-month mission.
今天（5/10）凌晨1点56分，天舟四号货运飞船在位于海南的中国文昌航天发射场成功发射。上午8点54分，采用自主快速交会对接模式，成功对接空间站天和核心舱后向端口。此次任务中，天舟四号货运飞船装载了神舟十四号航天员在轨驻留所需的消耗品、推进剂、应用实（试）验装置和样品材料、备品备件及部分载荷等物资。神舟十四号载人飞船预计于六月发射，3名航天员将在中国空间站完成为期6个月的驻留任务。

2. VOLUNTEER GETS BACK TO WORK AFTER BEING DISCHARGED
方舱归来 复出的“抗疫志愿者”
Zhu Yichao, a resident in Yangpu's Wujiaochang area is back in a white suit and doing volunteer work, after being discharged from a makeshift hospital and finishing seven-days of observation. Zhang Hong has the story. 
在解除医学隔离观察、并按规定完成七天健康监测后，来自杨浦区五角场街道的居民朱沂超再次披上隔离服，加入了志愿者队伍。记者张泓带来更多详细报道。

Fully covered in a protective suit, Zhu began working as a volunteer after his community building's status was upgraded from "closed" to "controlled". He went to the neighborhood committee as soon as he received the paperwork that certified【证明】 him as "recovered". His neighbors gave him a warm welcome. 
朱沂超所在的社区从“封控区”转变为“管控区”后，他再次穿上隔离服，开始了志愿者工作。一拿到解除隔离的“康复”证明，他就立刻向社区报到，收到了邻居“欢迎回家”的问候。

You can see a bright side to anything when you believe in it. That's how I feel. I think we need to face the virus in a more objective and scientific way and learn how to protect ourselves. 
你只有相信光了，你才能看到光，我是这么认为的。我们需要更加科学更加正确地认识、面对病毒，更好地去进行防护。

Zhu joined the subdistrict volunteer team at the end of March but tested positive on April 7. A week later, Zhu and his family were transferred to a makeshift hospital. While at the hospital, Zhu also organized volunteers to help the medics to deliver food, help with the PCR testing and garbage disposal. 
早在三月下旬，朱沂超就加入了五角场街道疫情防控应急先锋队，但在4月7日核酸检测阳性。全家三口陆续被确诊为无症状感染者，继而转运至区级方舱医院。但很快，他又忙碌了起来，在方舱内和舱友们组建了"志愿小分队"，帮助医护人员送饭、处理垃圾、协助核酸检测。

I just did what I could to help the medics at the makeshift hospital, and I also got a lot of help from the patients. We helped each other to turn the hospital into a warm and cozy community. 
我们日常在方舱做一些力所能及工作的时候，还会有其他人过来相互帮衬，把方舱医院变成一个温暖舒适的社区。

As a recovered volunteer, Zhu continues to deliver food packages, and help with the PCR and antigen screenings in the residential community.
康复以后，朱沂超继续在自己的社区做志愿者，帮助分发物资、协助核酸检测和抗原筛查。

3.FOREIGN TRADE IS GROWING, BUT IT'S NOT BEEN AN EASY RIDE
中国对外贸易在挑战中艰难增长
China's General Administration of Customs today announced that the country's total foreign trade reached almost 12.6 trillion yuan in the first 4 months of the year, up almost 8% from a year ago.  Exports have grown by more than 10 percent since then.   Zhang Shixuan finds out how trading firms and logistics service providers have been struggling to keep the growth going, despite the Covid outbreaks.
中国海关总署今天（5/10）公布，今年前4个月，我国外贸进出口总值接近12.6万亿元，比去年同期增长近8%，其中，出口同比增长超10%。贸易公司和物流供应商如何在疫情之下保持贸易增长，记者张诗璇带来详细报道。

Every year, this aluminum【铝】 products manufacturer exports around 5,000 tons of color coated aluminum to overseas markets in the Middle East, Southeast Asia, South America, and Europe. The aluminum is widely used in industries like architecture, home appliances, and even advertising. The company has seen its export orders jump 40% year-on-year【年同比】 during the past 2 years, and despite the new wave of COVID outbreaks they've kept on rising during the past four months.  
这家公司每年向中东、东南亚、南美和欧洲海外市场出口彩涂铝约5000吨。铝被广泛应用于建筑、家电、甚至广告等行业。 过去2年，该公司的出口订单同比增长40%，尽管新冠肺炎疫情再次出现，但该公司出口订单在过去4个月仍持续增长。

According to cross-border e-commerce site Made-in-China.com, during the first 4 months, sales activity in the aluminum materials sector grew by more than 130% from a year ago.

The State taxation Administration and other government departments have jointly released a circular, outlining measures to improve their export tax rebate policies and streamline procedures for applications. But it turns out the exporters may need even more help than that.
国家税务总局等政府部门联合发布了一系列出口退税支持、申请程序简化的措施。 但出口商可能需要更多帮助。

Our costs have jumped by around 70% from last year that includes raw materials, energy and sea freight shipping costs. They've been high since the outbreak.  And the foreign exchange rates have been fluctuating so that it's been hard to arrange settlements.  We cannot transfer those costs to our customers, so we hope that the government could accelerate the export tax rebate process and provide more targeted supportive policies regarding foreign exchange settlement. 总体来讲，成本这个上升基本上在70%左右。我们的成本主要构成，是我们的上游的原材料，还有能源，还有我们的海运运输费用。疫情发生以来,我们的原材料价格上浮，海运价格居高不下，并且运力紧张。汇率波动，我们的结汇比较困难。我们这些成本也没办法向我的下用户去转。我希望出口退税的进度加快，关于汇率结算，外汇管理审批，更快针对性的给一些政策。

China COSCO Shipping has been working to develop new transport services to help out these firms. Carrying about 1,000 tons of aluminum materials, COSCO Shipping's first train from Chengdu to Vietnam departed in mid-April. The new service helps to alleviate【减轻】 the pressure on supply chain logistics brought about by the Omicron variant, saving around 30% in time and 20% in cost compared with traditional truck transport.
中国远洋海运集团一直致力于发展新的运输服务来帮助出口贸易公司。4月中旬，中远海运的第一列运输班列载着约1000吨铝型材，从成都开往越南。这项新的运输服务有助于减轻奥密克戎带来的供应链物流压力，比起卡车运输节省了约30%的时间和20%的成本。

For example, traditionally, cargo from Chongqing or Luzhou would first come by river to Shanghai, and then ship out to destinations in areas like Southeast Asia. But now this would all take quite a while, and cross-border truck transport faces risks brought about by the outbreak.  So, we have adopted the new cross-border rail service, with means fewer contact between drivers and operations staff. 比如传统的,从重庆，泸州，然后通过江海联运的这种模式到上海，然后船到达东南亚的这些地方，然后再进入这个国家最终的目的地，目前的这种情况的话时效比较长，另外比较传统的就是直接卡车跨境的模式，疫情的原因导致它这个口岸可能随时都有关闭或者拥堵的这种风险，所以我们是采用了这种新的跨境铁路的模式，比较少的司机、操作人员相互接触。

Most of the cargo shipped on the dedicated trains so far is building materials, industrial medical products, or paper. Around 30% of it is aluminum products.  
And apart from these new railway services, for those who still have to choose sea freight, the shipping giant has also been leveraging multi-mode transport, combining sea freight with rail service.  Since the second half of February, Liu says, the company has seen a surge in demand for multi-mode transport. And since this makes things easier for trading firms far from seaports, it's become a new favorite with the clients.

Trucking cargo to a seaport is usually the most efficient, but now the outbreak has made it hard to find truck drivers, and some areas have specific anti-virus policies, leading to a disruption in truck transport.  So now we've made it possible for cargo to arrive at the Shanghai port through river or railway shipment. 
卡车到口岸这种模式当然是最时效最高的，但现在因为这个疫情的问题可能经常会导致卡车司机的资源非常紧缺，或者是各地有一些防疫政策，卡车运输不流畅，我们比如说通过江运的模式到达上海港，或者通过海铁联运的模式到达沿海的港口。

As a major engine of economic growth, China's foreign trade in goods continues to grow despite all the challenges brought about by the new wave of COVID outbreaks, with the trade structure continuing to be optimized. During the first 4 months, ASEAN countries continued to be China's largest trading partner, accounting for almost 15 percent of overall trade value.
作为拉动经济增长的主要动力，中国对外货物贸易在新冠肺炎疫情冲击下仍然持续增长，贸易结构持续优化。 今年头4个月，东盟国家仍然是中国最大的贸易伙伴，占总贸易额的近15%。
