1. 50,000 SH STUDENTS TAKE GAOKAO EXAM
上海5万考生参加高考


More than 50,000 high school students in Shanghai are taking the college entrance examination today. The gaokao usually takes place in June, but it was postponed a month due to the pandemic. Zhang Yue takes a look.
今日（7/7）上海5万多名考生走进考场参加高考。今年，由于受到疫情影响，本应在6月举行的高考延期了一个月。记者张乐带来详细报道。


Some students appeared calmed before entering the exam, even though they had to change the way of preparing for the test and study at home for three months. 
由于疫情影响，虽然不得不调整备考计划，在家参加近3个月的网课，但好在部分考生在步入考场前依旧淡定从容。

One teacher said studying remotely at home is not all bad for some students.
一位老师坦言，在家远程上网课，对部分学生来说也并非只有坏处。

I was surprised to learn something good about online study. For instance, some students are shy when talking in front of their peers. However, they are more willing to express their feelings in an online class, when they are more comfortable by themselves.
线上教学也有意想不到的好处，有些同学不太擅长发言，但是在网络教学的环境中，愿意抒发自己的意见，表达自己的情感。


In addition to regular virus prevention protocols, students are required to upload a daily antigen test result. Police were on duty to guide traffic. In Jing’an District, a traffic police officer on motorcycle was dispatched【派遣】 for emergency. One student asked an officer for help when getting stuck in traffic 5 kilometers from the test site. Police picked him up in just 8 minutes and brought him to test site 15 minutes before the exam started. Among the police officers, Xing Chen is responsible of patrolling around Xinzhong Senior High School. He took the Gaokao at the school back in 2016.

Temporary【临时的】 parking zones have been set up for parents to drop off their children. The examination ends Saturday.
为方便家长接送考生，考场附近设立了临时停车点。今年高考将于本周六结束。


2. PUDONG CREATES ZONE FOR INT’L TRADE OF BULK COMMODITIES
浦东成立大宗商品国际贸易生态集成区


An Ecological Integration Zone for International Trade of Bulk Commodities in the Expo Area was launched today in Pudong. More than 190 bulk commodities【大宗商品】 trading companies have an office in the zone. The goal is to strengthen the country’s pricing power in bulk commodities. Zhang Hong has more.
世博地区大宗商品国际贸易生态集成区，今天（7/7）在浦东挂牌成立。这一区域目前已集聚超过190家大宗商品贸易类企业。未来，集成区将助力提升我国大宗商品国际定价权。记者张泓带来更多详细报道。


China National Gold Group Trading Corporation is one of the companies in the zone. Employees in one of its trading areas are responsible for trading 40 tons of physical gold a year. China Aluminum International Trading Group and China Copper International Trading Group are across the street. Despite supplying significant amounts of non-ferrous metals【有色金属】 in the world, China lacks pricing power. 
中国黄金集团在交易区承担着一年40吨的电铜交易、铜金矿销售。对面的中铝大厦，入驻的则是中铝、中铜两大央企。虽然中国的有色金属产量巨大，但我国价格接受者的尴尬地位仍未能改变。

China’s pricing power does not match its trade volume. At present, the industry does not have enough influence. So we need to form a cluster of companies in the sector to work together.

The Ecological Integration Zone for International Trade of Bulk Commodities in the Expo Area helps bring upstream and downstream companies together. There are already 191 companies in the area, covering trade of non-ferrous metals, steel, grain and other commodities.
成立大宗商品国际贸易生态集成区，能够促进行业上下游协同，拧成一股劲，共同提高大宗商品在全球交易市场的话语权。 目前，世博地区已汇聚191家大宗商贸类企业，涵盖有色金属、化工、钢铁、能源等品种。

An Expo Area Administration official said trade in bulk commodities is expected to exceed 1 trillion yuan by 2025. Pudong officials introduced policies to fast-track customs clearance, provide financial support and attract industry professionals to work and live in Shanghai.
世博管理局工作人员介绍说，到2025年，大宗商品贸易规模将突破万亿级。未来，浦东将通过相关政策加快通关速度，提供资金支持，并吸引行业专业人士在上海工作生活。


3. RUSSIA SAYS IT DESTROYED 2 HIMARS ROCKET SYSTEMS
俄军称已摧毁乌克兰两套“海马斯”多管火箭炮系统


Russian defence ministry spokesperson Igor Konashenkov said on Wednesday that Russian forces had destroyed two High Mobility Artillery【火炮】 Rocket Systems in Ukraine. Stephen Rancourt has the story.
俄国防部周三（7/6）发布消息称，俄军使用高精度空基导弹，打击了乌军两套"海马斯"多管火箭炮系统。记者Stephen Rancourt带来更多详细报道。


Konashenkov said that the rocket systems were destroyed near the Ukrainian village of Malotaranivka near Kramatorsk. Konashenkov also said that a radar station for an S-300 air-defence system along with a temporary camp housing foreign mercenary units in Limany were destroyed. The General Staff of Ukraine’s military denied Russia’s claim, saying the US-supplied HIMARS were being used to inflict "devastating blows" on Russian forces. So far, Ukraine has received four HIMARS from the United States. HIMARS systems have a maximum range【最大射程】 of just over 300 kilometers, but the missiles【导弹】 supplied by the United States have a range of just under 65 kilometers, well short of what the system can actually do, but double the range of the howitzers it supplied. However, there are fears that some military equipment delivered by Western countries to Ukraine could end up on black markets.

If those weapons, like military rifles, guns, grenades, and anti-aircraft missiles are sold to surrounded areas via illegal trade, it could be easily used by terrorists or some other criminal organizations to harm the world. 
这样的一些武器装备都是制式装备，像军用的突击步枪、手枪、手榴弹、爆炸物，甚至包括轻机枪，还有一些便携式防空导弹和反坦克导弹，一旦通过"暗网" 包括其他的非法的秘密的军火交易途径，流入到周边区域，就会成为犯罪集团或者是恐怖分子手中的杀人武器。像便携式防空导弹针对民航客机会产生巨大的威胁。


Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov commented on reports that Japan’s Prime Minister Fumio Kishida had proposed capping the purchase price for Russian oil at around half of its current price, Peskov said that other countries may disagree with Tokyo’s cap level proposals.
近日，日本首相岸田文雄谈及七国集团打算对俄出口的石油采取"限价"措施，称俄石油的价格将遭"腰斩"。对此克里姆林宫发言人德米特里·佩斯科夫表示其他国家未必认同日本对石油的限价提议。

Japan has taken a very unfriendly position towards Russia. In any case, this very unfriendly position in no way facilitates the development of trade and economic relations, which includes dialogue on energy.

Also on Wednesday, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the general director of the United Grain Company who reported on payments in rubles for Russian grain. Ukraine and Russia provided almost a third of the world’s wheat and barley and half of its sunflower oil in 2021.
