My Views on New Ways of Consumption

Nowadays, in this consumption-oriented society, there are a growing number of people pursuing new ways of consumption. Some in favor of it, contending that such practice is money-saving and time-saving. Some object to it because coupons, group-buying deals are often deceptive and we may be tempted to buy unnecessary goods on impulse. From my perspective, such new ways of consumption will lead to waste and irrational customers.

First of all, the satisfaction of saving money on one commodity will greatly stimulate consumers' desire to buy more. It is easy to presume that more money will be spent eventually. Similarly, at the sight of such a low price, many consumers tend to lose their mind and come back home with packages of unnecessary goods. It is absolutely a waste of money. Last but not least, many consumers are passionate enough to purchase piles of group-buying coupons without realizing that there are many unpleasant additional clauses attached to them. For instance, many restaurant coupons can only be used at a certain time with certain specified dishes, which can hardly be called a satisfactory consumption experience. 

To conclude, there's no denying that these fashionable ways of consumption can to some extent help us save money. However, a much greater amount of money will be spent if we are indulged in using them. We will never become truly smart consumers if we don't spend money rationally.
