[00:00:06.30]The River Bank
[00:00:09.90]It is spring and the Mole is cleaning his little home.
[00:00:14.70]He is working very hard and he is very tired.
[00:00:18.90]Suddenly he decides to stop.
[00:00:22.90]He wants to go outside.
[00:00:25.70]He goes up a small tunnel and arrives outside in a meadow.
[00:00:31.40]"This is nice!" he thinks when he arrives in the sunlight, 
[00:00:38.60]"This is better than cleaning!" He is very happy.
[00:00:43.90]He crosses meadows and woods.
[00:00:46.80]He sees rabbits, birds and a lot of other animals.
[00:00:51.60]They are all working hard.
[00:00:54.70]Finally he arrives at the river.
[00:00:57.90]He sits down on the grass.
[00:01:01.30]The Water Rat comes out of his hole in the river bank.
[00:01:04.90]He sees Mole.
[00:01:06.80]"Hello, Mole," he says, 
[00:01:08.80]"Would you like to come over?"
[00:01:10.50]"Hello, Rat. Yes, I would. But how?" replies Mole.
[00:01:15.70]"I can come and get you in my boat." 
[00:01:18.30]Rat gets into a little boat and crosses the river.
[00:01:22.80]Mole gets into the boat.
[00:01:25.70]"This is wonderful!" says Mole, 
[00:01:29.90]"This is my first time in a boat."
[00:01:33.50]"Your first time!" says Rat, 
[00:01:36.10]"There's nothing better than boats! 
[00:01:38.40]Let's go for a picnic."
[00:01:40.20]"Oh, yes please!" says Mole.
[00:01:44.60]Rat goes into his house and returns with a big basket full of food.
[00:01:50.90]They go down the river in the boat.
[00:01:54.30]Rat tells Mole about life on the river and about his neighbours - 
[00:01:59.10]the otters, kingfishers and moorhens.
[00:02:03.60]Mole sees a wood in the distance.
[00:02:07.10]"What's over there?" he asks.
[00:02:10.20]"That's the Wild Wood," says Rat, 
[00:02:13.30]"We don't go there often."
[00:02:15.60]"Are they nice people there?" asks Mole.
[00:02:19.00]"Well," replies Rat, 
[00:02:21.50]"the squirrels and rabbits are alright. And there's Badger. He's nice.
[00:02:26.50]But the weasels, stoats and foxes... you must be careful with them."
[00:02:32.90]They stop for their picnic and Mole unpacks the basket.
[00:02:37.90]Soon the Otter arrives.
[00:02:40.70]"Hello, Otter," says Rat, 
[00:02:43.00]"This is my friend Mr Mole."
[00:02:45.50]"Pleased to meet you," says Otter to Mole.
[00:02:49.30]Suddenly the Badger appears 
[00:02:51.70]and Rat invites him to the picnic.
[00:02:55.00]But Badger turns around and goes away.
[00:02:59.10]"Badger hates company!" says Rat, 
[00:03:02.00]"We don't see him often. But look! There's Toad on the river in his new boat."
[00:03:07.80]"It's Toad's new hobby," says Otter.
[00:03:10.80]"Yes," says Rat, 
[00:03:12.80]"First it was sailing. Then it was houseboating. He changes hobby all the time."
[00:03:19.60]Rat waves to Toad but Toad doesn't stop.
[00:03:24.20]Rat and Mole return to Rat's house in the boat.
[00:03:27.90]Rat invites Mole to stay with him 
[00:03:31.00]and Mole is very happy.
