上海市委书记会见全球商界领袖

Shanghai Party Secretary Chen Jining met Apple CEO Tim Cook, Nestle CEO Mark Schneider, and Rainer Blair, CEO and global president of Danaher Corporation, yesterday afternoon. Chen discussed the city's economic and social development achievements.

3月29日下午，上海市委书记陈吉宁会见了美国苹果公司首席执行官蒂姆·库克、瑞士雀巢集团首席执行官马克·施耐德和美国丹纳赫集团全球总裁兼首席执行官雷纳·布莱尔。陈吉宁介绍了上海市的经济和社会发展成就。

Chen said leading companies like Apple, Nestle, and Danaher are welcome to seek strategic opportunities here as domestic demand rises.

陈吉宁说，随着中国国内需求的扩大，欢迎苹果、雀巢和丹纳赫等世界领先公司在这里寻求战略机遇。

Cook said the Shanghai and Chinese markets are important to Apple. He added the maker of iPhones is going to work with its Chinese partners to be more environmentally friendly, as well as create a stable supply chain for mutual benefits.

蒂姆·库克表示，中国市场、上海市场对苹果公司十分重要。他补充道，将携手中国合作伙伴围绕绿色低碳转型、产业链供应链稳定以及制造研发、商业零售等持续发力，更好实现共赢发展。

Schneider said the Nestle group will continue to increase investment and expand its business to improve the sustainability【可持续性】and development of the food industry.

施耐德说，雀巢集团将继续加大投资，拓展业务，在推动食品行业的可持续发展和高质量发展方面发挥更大作用。

Blair said the company has a long-term outlook【前景】for both the Shanghai and Chinese markets. The Danaher CEO also said investment in environmental protection and biopharmaceuticals will be increased.

丹纳赫公司首席执行官布莱尔说，该公司对中国市场、上海市场的投资布局是长期的、稳定的。他还表示，将在环境保护和生物医药等领域持续加大投资力度。

2.ALIBABA FLOATS IPO IDEA FOR ALL NEW BUSINESS GROUPS

Alibaba Group's six new business units, including cloud intelligence and smart logistics【物流】, could all raise capital and seek initial public offerings, the company's chief financial officer Toby Xu said today. That followed Alibaba's announcement this week of a company-wide reorganization【重组】.

阿里巴巴集团首席财务官徐宏3月30日表示，阿里巴巴集团的六个新设立的业务部门，包括云智能和智能物流，都可以独立融资和上市。此前，阿里巴巴本周宣布将在全公司范围内进行重组。

The CFO said during a conference call with analysts that each group, except for the Taobao Tmall Commerce Group, will retain the flexibility to raise outside capital. The CFO also said that the six units may gain more autonomy from their parent company after going public. On the same call, Alibaba's CEO Daniel Zhang said "Alibaba will be more of the nature of an asset and capital operator than a business operator, in relation to the business group companies."

徐宏在与分析师的电话会议上表示，除了淘宝天猫商业集团之外，其他所有的业务集团和业务公司都会形成可独立融资和分拆。他还表示，上市后这六个部门可能会从其母公司获得更多的自主权。这次电话会议上，阿里巴巴首席执行官张勇说：“就整个经营关系而言，阿里巴巴会由业务运营走向资产运营和资本运营。”

The new Zikawei Library in Xuhui District has become very popular with residents and tourists since it opened on the first day of this year. About 4,000 people visit the new library every day. Reporter Zhang Hong went there yesterday and asked a few of them what they like about the new facility.

徐汇区的徐家汇书院自今年1月1日向公众开放以来深受市民和游客的喜爱，平均每日接待超过4000人次。本台记者张泓随机采访了一些读者，听听他们为什么喜欢这个图书馆。

“I like the arches inside, they kind of make you feel you’re in some historical building in a way.”

“我喜欢里面的拱形结构，让你感觉仿佛置身于一个历史建筑中。”

“很漂亮。”

“It’s gorgeous.”

“可能路过的时候你就想过来一下，就这种感觉。”

“Every time you pass by, you want to come in here.”

“几乎每天都来。”

“I come here almost every day.”

“像回到之前大学的时候那种感觉。”

“It’s like going back to the time when I was in college.”

“我觉得书很新，我看了一下有些书都是才出版的。”

“The books are new. Some were just published.”

1. What brought you here? 为什么来徐家汇书院？

“I live nearby and had some business nearby and a little bit of free time so I decided to come walk around downtown Xujiahui. I just arrived, so I just thought I sit down to do some work here.”

“我住在附近，正好在附近有些公务要忙，现在有一点空闲时间，所以想在徐家汇走走。我刚进来，想办公一会儿。”

“来借书的。方便的，因为现在好像可以直接刷随申码。”

“I’m here to borrow books. It’s convenient. You just need to have your health QR code scanned.”

“因为家里有女儿，然后想到时候看一下，家里小朋友可以让她体验一下。”

“I have a daughter so I wanted to check this place out and bring her here later.”

“因为课就在这附近，然后中间空闲时间比较多，就想没事做就来这看看书。”

“I’m going to a class nearby and I have some spare time now. So I want to read some books to kill time.”

“We’re here to take photos. She dressed up for it.”

2. What’s the most attractive part of the library? 这里最吸引你的是什么？

“I would say location. Also, the design, I like the interior【内部的】arches, they kind of make you feel you’re in some historical building in a way.”

“地理位置好。再加上建筑风格。我喜欢里面的拱形结构，让你感觉仿佛置身于一个历史建筑中。”

“吸引我的地方应该更多的还是那个儿童阅读区里边，不光它的布置，还有里边一些书籍的摆放，包括它的一个环境，我觉得都非常适合小朋友做启蒙阅读。”

“The reading area for children attracts me the most. Its decorations, books and the overall environment is very suitable for children to sit and read.”

“挺大挺新的，然后藏书也比较多。”

“It’s big, and new, and has a large collection of books.”

3. What do you feel about the time spent here? 在图书馆里感觉如何？

“It's a great place to you know, come and relax and do some work perhaps maybe study, read a book.”

“这是一个让人能放松、处理工作、阅读的好地方。”

Mr. Wang王先生

“像回到之前大学的时候那种感觉。可以很踏实地沉静下来去看书阅读，这样的时间现在越来越少。”

“It’s like going back to the time when I was in college. I can relax and read a book, which I have less time to do now.”

Mr. Li李先生

“可能路过的时候你就想过来一下，就这种感觉。”

“Every time you pass by, you want to come in here.”

4. Will you be coming back again in the near future? 近期还会再过来吗？

“I live nearby so I’m thinking that maybe I should visit more often.”

“我住在附近，所以我想我会更经常来这里。”

“之后会来。环境比较空旷一些，然后我觉得书很新，我看了一下有些书都是才出版的，摆放得也比较好找一些。”

“I’ll come back. It has a large space here and the books are new. Some were just published and they’re arranged in a way that makes them easy to find.”

“几乎每天都来。”

“I come here almost every day.”

5. What are your expectations from a modern library? 您心目中的现代图书馆是什么样的？

Tomas Kucera 马龙（捷克共和国）

“I think having a place for people to sit, to access the internet, and also have a wide range of books and resources. I think these would be my main expectations. And of course, if you also have some attractive architectural elements or beautiful modern design features. It’s added bonus.”

“我认为有地方可以让公众坐下来，能上网，也有大量书籍和资源，这是我心目中的图书馆需要具备的条件。当然，如果能在其中加入一些建筑之美，让它成为漂亮的现代建筑，这就更好了。”

Ms. Shen沈女士

“有看书，还有学习的一些地方，还有那种比较私密的空间也可以有一些。我看了一下那边有还是挺多的，然后也都有插头啊什么的。”

“It should have space for people to read and study, and perhaps some private areas. I saw quite a lot of these kinds of spaces here, and there’re plugs here for you to charge your devices.”

“不光是我们青年人，包括老年人或者一些儿童，或者有一部分障碍的人，那更多地能为全部大众去服务，这样一个图书馆，我觉得应该是现在需要的。”

“A library should not only serve young people, but also the elderly, children and persons with disabilities. It should serve a larger population. I think that’s what we need.”

“我心目中图书馆肯定就是可以带动氛围，然后能在哪里都可以坐下看书。”

“I think a library should have an atmosphere that coaxes you into sitting down and reading a book.”

“很多的游客是因为我们图书馆的颜值第一次走进了这个图书馆，知道了这是一个公共的图书馆、能够办读者证借书还书之后，反而就成为了我们潜在的读者，那么我们也是通过这样和旅游相结合的种种手段，也是在做更进一步层次的一个全民阅读推广，所以文化和旅游都是紧紧地结合在一起的。”

“Many tourists came to our library for the first time because it’s beautiful. They got to know this public library, where they can get themselves a reader’s card to borrow books. They became readers here. By combining with elements in the tourism industry, we can encourage more people to get into the habit of reading. Culture and tourism are closely connected to each other.”
